Zenless Zone Zero Sheer Force Guide

Sheer Force is a stat in Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) that enables Rupture Agents to bypass enemy defenses. Check out how Sheer Force works and how to improve your Sheer Force stat here!

What is Sheer Force?

Bypasses Enemy Defenses

The Sheer Force stat determines how much of an enemy's defenses (such as shields) a Rupture Agent ignores. This stat also determines how effective they are in taking down defenses compared to other Agents.

The higher a Rupture Agent's Sheer Force is, the more effective they are in dealing DMG that goes beyond defenses while simultaneously taking them down!

Not to be Confused with PEN Stats

Sheer Force deals Sheer DMG, which completely and innately ignores an enemy's defenses and and DEF stat. The downside is that it is exclusive to Rupture Agents.

For other Specialties such as Attack Agents, increase their PEN and PEN Ratio stats to have them bypass a percentage of an enemy's DEF stat. For this reason, PEN and PEN Ratio are not needed when building Rupture Agents.

All Stats Explained

Scales Off of ATK

A certain percentage of a Rupture Agent's ATK stat gets converted into Sheer Force. If you wish to deal more Sheer DMG, try increasing their ATK stat first.

Sheer Force Exceptions

While Sheer Force inevitably scales off of the ATK stat, under certain conditions and character kits, their other stats may affect it as well. For instance, Yixuan's Sheer Force not only scales off of ATK but also her Max HP.

Get to know your Agents' kits and skills first before building them to determine your farming priorities!

How to Raise Sheer Force

Use Drive Discs that Raise ATK and Sheer DMG

Drive Disc Effect
ZZZ - Yunkui TalesYunkui Tales 2-pc: HP +10%
4-pc: When using EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, or Ultimate, CRIT Rate increases by 4%, stacking up to 3 times and lasting 15s. Repeated triggers reset the duration. When having 3 stacks of this effect, Sheer DMG increases by 10%.
ZZZ - Hormone PunkHormone Punk 2-pc: Increases ATK by 10%.
4-pc: Upon entering combat or switching in, its user's ATK increases by 25% for 10s. This effect can trigger once every 20s.
ZZZ - Astral VoiceAstral Voice 2-pc: ATK +10%
4-pc: Whenever any squad member enters the field using a Quick Assist, all squad members gain 1 stack of Astral, up to a maximum of 3 stacks, and lasting 15s. Repeated triggers reset the duration. Each stack of Astral increases the damage dealt by the character entering the field using a Quick Assist by 8%. Only one of this effect can be active at a time in the same squad.

When building Rupture Agents, Proxies should prioritize increasing Sheer DMG and increasing the Sheer Force stat via the ATK stat. The Drive Discs above should prove useful.

When these Drive Discs are paired with W-Engines that provide additional ATK, your Rupture Agents can shred enemy defenses in no time!

Use Characters that Increase Sheer DMG

Character Explanation
Pan Yinhu Pan Yinhu Sheer Force Boost
• Pan Yinhu's kit was practically made for Rupture Agents as his Core Skill provides additional Sheer Force based on his ATK, with a DMG increase against targets via his Additional Ability.
Astra Astra ATK Boost
• Since Sheer Force scales off of ATK, having Astra in the party is a wise choice as she bestows a certain amount of her own ATK to teammates via her Core Skill.
Lucy Lucy ATK Boost
• Just like Astra, Lucy also provides other teammates with additional ATK based on her own ATK stat, which perfectly sets up Rupture Agents to deal more Sheer DMG. She provides even more ATK when the conditions stated in her Core Skill are met!
Pulchra Pulchra Off-Field Stun
• Pulchra works great with Rupture Agents who require a lot of time on-field. Additionally, if you have her at M6, she can also buff their Sheer DMG via her Core Skill as this Mindscape removes the limitation of her Binding Trap debuff to Aftershock DMG.

On top of building your characters with the appropriate stats, another thing you can do to increase your Sheer DMG against enemies is by putting a Rupture Agent in a team that can enable them to do so!

Either use characters like Pan Yinhu who can increase Sheer Force and Sheer DMG, or use debuffing characters like Caesar or an M6 Pulchra that increases a specific target's incoming DMG!
