Level Cap
To ascend or promote a character, you'll first need to hit their current level cap. From there, you'll get the option to promote your character using Certification Seals and Denny.

Inter-Knot Reputation Requirements

Required Inter-Knot Reputation
Before you can promote a character, you'll also need to reach a specific Inter-Knot Reputation level. You can rank up your Inter-Knot Reputation by beating Rank-Up Commissions.

You can check your current Inter-Knot Reputation by clicking on your profile from the main menu.

Ranking Up Inter-Knot Reputation Has Its Own Requirements

Inter-Knot Rank Up Requirements
If you want to rank up your Inter-Knot Reputation, you'll first need to fulfill the Rank Up Requirements listed on your profile page. Once they're completed, you'll gain access to the respective Rank-Up Commission in the HDD.

Why Should You Promote Agents?

Increased Base Stats

Promotion Increases Stats
Besides unlocking the level cap, the character you'll promote will also get a general boost to their HP, ATK, and DEF. Even if you can't level them up yet, it's still worth promoting an Agent if you can.

Upgrade Skills and Core Skills

Skill Level Requirement
Promoting a character will also allow you to unlock upgrades for Agent Skills and Core Skills once they reach the requisite level. If you don't upgrade these skills, your characters will be noticeably weaker in battle.

Meet Recommended Levels

Recommended Level
Each commission will have a recommended level that tells you the overall strength of the enemies. You'll need to promote your Agents to reach these recommendations, otherwise, you might struggle using lower-level characters.
