What is Hollow Special Operations Section 6?

Armed Force of H.A.N.D.

H.A.N.D., or the Hollow Affairs and Neutralization Department, is a sector in New Eridu's government responsible for eradicating Hollows and their threats. Only little internal intel about H.A.N.D. has been made public.

However, it is common knowledge that the Hollow Special Operations is its main line against the Hollows, which is divided into different sections. Among them, Section 6 is the most prolific and prominent one.

Section 6 has a Large Fanbase

Section 6's exceptional skills have grabbed the attention of New Eridu's citizens and amassed quite a sizeable following. Whenever they are out and about, large crowds of fans surround them almost instantaneously.

It is also because of this that they are the primary choice for testing out new technology developed by both H.A.N.D. and the HIA, especially when this technology can help in Hollow investigation and eradication.

Hoshimi Miyabi is the Faction Chief

Hoshimi Miyabi is Section 6's Chief and is the successor of a renowned family of martial artists in the city. She leads the group in battle and speaks in official meetings on their behalf as their main representative.

Miyabi appears stoic and indifferent. In truth, she actually bears an eccentric personality and is fond of using strange analogies and oddly poetic statements. She is also very considerate, buying Yanagi her favorite red bean buns.

Miyabi is a Void Hunter

As confirmed in the Special Episode, Virtual Revenge, Miyabi is a Void Hunter, and the most promising one in her generation at that. She inherited this title from her predecessor, one of the original 7 heroes of New Eridu.

Being a Void Hunter may explain Miyabi's otherworldly agility that exceeds that of a regular fox Thiren, as well as her strength immense enough to cut Nineveh down to size.

Miyabi Inherited a Cursed Sword

Apart from being a Void Hunter, part of Miyabi's inheritance is her family's blade, which happens to be cursed. This ancient Ethereal-slaying katana is named Tailless and is completely shrouded in mystery.

A special scabbard with a fingerprint lock that only Miyabi can access has been custom-made by her father to keep Tailless' cursed power sealed. However, after the events of Chapter 5, Miyabi has now come to terms with its power.

Miyabi Went to School with Zhu Yuan

It has been confirmed numerous times in-game that Miyabi, in fact, went to school with Zhu Yuan, the Captain of New Eridu Public Security's Criminal Investigation Special Response Team and is very close friends with her.

They often reminisce about their days in school whenever they are together, with Miyabi often pointing out that Zhu Yuan has always been a bookish perfectionist and that she needs to loosen up every now and then.

Tsukishiro Yanagi is the Deputy Chief

Tsukishiro Yanagi is Section 6's Deputy Chief and Intelligence Officer. She is an Electric Anomaly Agent released in Phase 1 of Version 1.3.

Yanagi is the most level-headed member of Section 6 and normally swamps herself with work in addition to managing her compatriots. She makes sure that everyone is productive, but she herself can have clumsy tendencies.

Yanagi Has Oni Blood

Yanagi once found herself amongst the Oni, a tribal race on the outskirts of New Eridu at war with the humans of the city. However, her purpose for being there was different—to foster camarederie between humans and the Oni.

Doubtful at first, the tribe was convinced of her intentions when Soukaku spoke highly of her. The dying leader of the Oni transferred her blood to Yanagi and left the race under her care as they became citizens of New Eridu.

Soukaku is the Youngest Member

Soukaku is the youngest member of Section 6 and is a biological Oni. Though presumably old enough to work in a corporate setting, her compatriots still consider her a “child”.

This is probably due to Soukaku being filled with innocence and childlike wonder. She loves doodling with crayons, she is being tutored regularly, and has an enormous and seemingly insatiable appetite.

Soukaku's Legal Guardian is Yanagi

In relation to Yanagi having the entire Oni race under her care, she is also Soukaku's legal guardian. From Yanagi's character teaser, Oni Guardian, one can surmise that Soukaku was somewhat related to the former leader.

With the leader's blood now flowing in Yanagi's veins, it's possible that Soukaku now views her in the same sisterly way. Yanagi doesn't seem to mind, however, as she does all in her power to ensure Soukaku's safety and satisfaction.

Asaba Harumasa is an Executive Officer

Asaba Harumasa is the fourth member of Section 6, and is an elite Executive Officer. He wields a bow in battle and is an Electric Attack Agent released in Phase 1 of Version 1.4!

Harumasa is carefree and happy-go-lucky. Though reliable, he tends to dislike too much work and is often found slacking off, sleeping on the job, or trying absolutely everything to get out of working, especially overtime hours.

Harumasa's Master was a Wanted Criminal

Harumasa was abandoned by his parents in a hospital as a child and was taken in by an unnamed master. Apart from teaching him archery, Harumasa's master was also a doctor who was caught in an illegal research.

He was to develop a drug that boosts Ether aptitude, but has severe side effects. He stopped this research midway to develop a cure for Harumasa instead, which urged the masterminds behind this research to kill him.

Harumasa in in Poor Health

Harumasa has Ether Aptitude Regression Syndrome, a disease that has persisted since his childhood. He often uses this as his main excuse to slack off, but his symptoms and conditions are very real.

It is because of this that Harumasa has spent more time in the hospital than outside of it. Even up to now, he still spends a lot of his time in the hospital and is still undergoing treatment.

Harumasa is Seth's Senior

Harumasa went to the same university with Criminal Investigation Special Response Team member, Seth Lowell. However, Harumasa was a year ahead of Seth.

After graduation, Seth chose to pursue a career in Public Security, while Harumasa veered towards a career in H.A.N.D.
