Zenless Zone Zero How to Gain Energy

Energy and Energy Regen is a character stat in Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ). Check out what Energy Regen does, how to increase Energy Regen, and how to gain Energy in this guide!

What is Energy?

ZZZ- Energy Bar Max
Energy is used by each character to perform their own EX Special Attacks. By filling up the meter to a certain point as shown by the red cursor in the energy bar, a character can perform their EX Special Attack.

EX Special Attacks

Lycaon EX Special Attack
EX Special Attacks are enhanced versions of Special Attacks that can deal more damage, increase their supporting capabilities, and can even interrupt the target's action.

Energy vs Decibels

Piper
Unlike previous Hoyoverse titles, Energy is used to perform characters' EX Special Attacks instead of their Ultimates. Energy is exclusive to each character and is charged separately. Meanwhile, Decibels are used to charge Ultimates up and is shared between party members.

How to Gain Energy

Scoring a Hit on Enemies Will Recharge Energy

Basic Attack Gets Energy
The best way for any character to gain energy is to score hits on enemies. Be it from Basic Attacks or even Assists, make sure to rotate your characters and make full use of Chain Attacks.

Certain Equipment and Passives Will Recharge Energy Passively

Billy Energy Passive
Certain W-Engines and Mindscape Cinemas will give characters a certain amount of Energy back, so make sure to read up on their effects if your character specializes in using EX Special Attacks!

Equip Drive Discs and W-Engines

Nicole Equipped with The Vault

Drive Discs like Noisy Pop and W-Englines like The Vault have sub stats that give the equipping character Energy Regen. This is particularly useful for characters like Nicole whose kit is better suited for waiting in the backlines until they can pull out their EX Special Attack for a quick DEF Shred!

Drive Disc Base and Random Stats

Energy Regen is one of the possible Base Stats available for the Drive Disk in Slot 6. Energy Regen cannot be a random stat so make sure to give it to a character who can make full use of it.
