• Needs to use Dodge Counters or Quick Assists constantly to keep Core Ability active, unlike other Agents. • Can't do much if the enemy is stunned. |
Nekomata is a Physical, Attack character who acts as the team's main DPS. Her kit allows her to be mobile around the battlefield, using quick AoE attacks to take out enemies and can increase her damage through dodging.

This build maximizes Nekomata's damage output when she uses her Basic Attacks and Dodge Counters. Since she uses these often, she can easily maximize the ATK buff the Disc set provides while doing consistent DPS.
Woodpecker Electro also increases her EX Special Skill's damage which is nice for even more DPS output.

|---|---|---|
| 1 |
|
Metal Cat Claws Increases Physical DMG by 20%. The equipper's DMG increases by 25% when attacking the enemy from behind. |
| 2 |
|
Scorching Breath Upon hitting an enemy with a Basic Attack, Dash Attack, or Dodge Counter, the equipper's ATK increases by 3.5% for 8s, stacking up to 8 times. This effect can trigger once every 0.5s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately. |
| 3 |
|
Knight's Combo Launching a Dodge Counter or Quick Assist increases the equipper's ATK by 12% for 12s. |
| 4 |
|
Flaming Bars Whenever a squad member launches a Chain Attack, the equipper gains a Charge stack, stacking up to 3 times. Upon activating their own Ultimate, the equipper consumes all Charge stacks, and each stack increases the skill's DMG by 15%. |
| 5 |
|
Oversized Barrel Increases CRIT Rate by 7.5%. Attacks that land a critical hit on an enemy will inflict an additional 200% of ATK as DMG. This effect can trigger once every 8s. |
Steel Cushion is an S Rank W-Engine and is best for Nekomata since it increases her CRIT Rate and Physical DMG. Also, with the use of her Basic Attack and dashes, she can easily get behind the enemy to take advantage of this W-Engine's DMG buff.

★★★ - Best Set! Dawn's Bloom gives Nekomata a buff that increases her Basic Attack DMG. The buff is further enhanced whenever she uses an EX Special Attack or Ultimate. This synergizes well with her kit since she often uses these Skills to deal damage. 2-piece Fanged Metal is great to pair with this since it gives her more Physical DMG. |
|
(4-pc) (2-pc) |
★★☆ - 2nd Best Puffer Electro works well when you use Nekomata as a burst damage dealer. Not only does it give her PEN Ratio, but it also increases her Ultimates DMG and her ATK. This makes her usual damaging abilities deal more DMG after using her Ultimate. 2-Piece Woodpecker increases her CRIT Rate which means she can land more crits with her Skills. |
| Skill | Priority | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| ★★★★★ | Nekomata's Core Passive increases the DMG boost she gets when her Dodge Counter or Quick Assist hits an enemy. Max this out since this is a big DMG boost for her. | |
| ★★★★★ | Nekomata's Basic Attacks are her consistent source of damage, so max this Skill out first. | |
| ★★★★★ | Nekomata's Dodge Counter is one of her sources of damage, so max this out after her Basic Attack. | |
| ★★★☆☆ | Nekomata's Assist Skill allows her to deal some damage and also increases her own DMG thanks to her Core Passive, but it's less of a priority than her Basic Attack and Dodge Skills. | |
| ★★☆☆☆ | Nekomata's Special Attack does quite a bit of damage, but it's less of a priority than her other Skills. | |
| ★★★★☆ | Nekomata's Chain Attack and Ultimate deal burst damage, so max this out after maxing her other key skills. |
Nekomata excels at dealing damage with her Basic Attack, so aim to max that first. Follow it up with Chain Attacks and Dodges since she will be needing those a lot as well. Finally, her Core Skill should also be upgraded whenever you can.

Nekomata's Dodge Counter and Quick Assist increase her DMG dealt when they hit an enemy, so use them when able to keep her DMG buff up. This buff increases when you level up her Core Skill.
Since the enemy can't attack when they're Stunned, Nekomata must rely on her Quick Assist instead of dodging. Supports that can grant her a Quick Assist work well in these situations.
| EX Special Attack Combo |
|---|
| Trigger Assault → Use Basic Attacks → Use EX Special Attack |
Nekomata's Core Skill increases the DMG of her EX Special Attack when she uses it after anyone inflicts Assault on the enemy. This damage bonus stacks and allows Nekomata to deal even more damage when using it.
Weave in a few Basic Attacks before using the EX Special Attack to maximize your damage output. Nekomata's EX Special Attack also makes her invulnerable, so you can use it to dodge attacks while inflicting damage on the enemy.
Nekomata's Ultimate deals massive Physical DMG in a wide area, so you can use it to take out multiple enemies if needed. You can save your Decibels for her Ultimate if you need to dish out a lot of burst damage for a tough enemy or boss.
Having the Steel Cushion W-Engine or Nekomata's C1 gives her playstyle some variety. You need to attack enemies from behind to utilize the damage boosts they provide. This can require some setup if you don't have her C1.
Holding her Basic Attack makes her go through the enemy and makes it easy to attack from behind. With C1, this is easier since attacks against Stunned enemies are considered back attacks so Nekomata can attack normally.

| Why We Recommend It | |
|---|---|
| M1 | ★★★★★ - Amazing This gives Nekomata to ignore a percentage of her target's Physical RES and make all her attacks considered Back Attacks when the enemy is Stunned. This is amazing since it boosts her DMG and gives her access to easy back attacks. |
| M2 | ★★★☆☆ - Good This gives Nekomata an increase in her Energy Regen, which allows her to do more EX Special Attacks. It's good to have but not a necessity. |
| M4 | ★★★☆☆ - Good This allows Nekomata's EX Special Skill to increase her CRIT Rate when she uses it. It's a good stat boost to have. |
| M6 | ★★★★★ - Amazing This increases Nekomata's CRIT DMG when she uses a Chain Attack or Ultimate, which increases her damage immensely. This pairs well with her other Skills and her C4, allowing Nekomata to get a lot of CRIT stats. |
M3 and M5 are excluded since they are only for skill enhancement.
| Cinema Effect | |
|---|---|
| M1 | Bird Hunter When Nekomata hits an enemy from behind, she ignores 16% of her target's Physical RES. If the enemy is Stunned, all Nekomata's attacks against them are considered back attacks. |
| M2 | Cat & Mouse When there's only one enemy on the field and Nekomata is in combat, her Energy Generation Rate is increased by 25%. |
| M3 | Curious Left Tail Basic Attack, Dodge, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2 |
| M4 | Sharpen Claws When Nekomata uses her EX Special Attack, her CRIT Rate increases by 7% for 15s, stacking up to 2 times, with each stack's duration being calculated separately. |
| M5 | Lucky Right Tail Basic Attack, Dodge, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2 |
| M6 | Predator Lineage When Nekomata launches a Chain Attack or uses her Ultimate, her CRIT DMG increases by 18%, stacking up to 3 times. The effect expires when she's no longer in-combat. This effect gains maximum stacks immediately on defeating an enemy. |
