How to Get Free Polychromes

Complete Story Commissions

You can get Polychromes as a reward for completing Story Commissions in the Hollow Deep Dive System (HDD), inside the Random Play video store.

Story Commissions are the main missions or quests in Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ).

First Time Rewards Give Additional Polychromes

When you complete any type of Commssion, whether Story, Combat, or Exploration Commission, for the first time you can receive Polychromes as an additional reward.

Obtain from Gold and Purple Boxes in HDD

You can also obtain Polychromes from the gold boxes and purple boxes in the Hollow Deep Dive System (HDD).

Events

Participate in various in-game events by accomplishing every challenge, level, or mission that is only available for a limited time to receive a large amount of free Polychromes.

Inter-Knot Level Up Rewards

You can get free Polychromes as a reward by leveling up your Inter-Knot Level, which can easily be done by completing any type of Commission.

Tutorials in Proxy Handbook

Get free Polychromes by reading through all the tutorials in your Proxy Handbook. Visit your Workbench inside the Random Play video store, opposite the side of where the HDD is, to access the tutorials in your Proxy Handbook.

Achievement Rewards

You can unlock various in-game achievements to get free Polychromes as a reward by completing them. The rewards you get by completing them may come in small amounts, but there are plenty of achievements you can unlock as well.

Demo Characters in Signal Search

Try to complete the Demos for the S-Rank Characters in the Signal Search Menu to get free Polychromes as a reward. You also get the chance to try out new characters and learn everything about them through their Demos.

Trial Rewards in Compendium Menu

Complete certain challenges in every trial in the Compendium menu to get free Polychromes as a reward. The Compendium can easily be unlocked by progressing through the story.

Redeem Codes

How to Redeem Codes
1. Open the Menu and click on the More option.
2. Click the Redemption Code option on the lower left of your screen.
3. Input the Redeem Code you wish to use. Make sure to use all the available codes and avoid the expired ones.
4. Claim your rewards from you Mail and enjoy.

One of the easiest way to get free Polychromes is to watch out for redeem codes. Simply, type in the code in the redemption code option that is located in the more menu.

You can get free Polychromes by logging in to Hoyolab's Daily Login Rewards. Simply register your account, click on the Zenless Zone Zero tab, and locate the check-in option under the all tools menu.

How to Buy Polychromes

Buy Mononochromes With Real Money

You can buy Polychromes in exchange for Monochromes, which can be bought by real world money in the Monochrome Market. The Monochrome Market is located in the store menu.

Note that 1 Monochrome is equivalent to 1 Polychrome.

Buy the Growth Plan New Eridu City Plan Battle Pass

You can also choose to buy the Growth Plan New Eridu City Plan Battle Pass to receive a great amount of Polychromes in exchange for some real world money. The Battle Pass also includes a bunch of other items that serves as rewards.

How to Use Polychrome

Exchange for Master Tapes

You can use your Polychromes to exchange for Master Tapes in the Signal Shop menu, which can be used to get new characters and weapons in Signal Search. Any type of Master Tape can be purchased for 160 Polychromes each.

Note that the two different types of Master Tapes can be used in different types of banners in Signal Search, so always be careful which one you're about to exchange your Polychromes for.

How to Exchange for Master Tapes in the Signal Shop

How to Exchange Polychromes for Master Tapes
1. Open your Menu and click on the Store option on the lower right of your screen.
2. Select the Signal Shop menu on the left side of your screen.
3. Click on the Master Tape Exchange tab on the upper right corner of your screen.
4. Choose which type of Master Tape you want to exchange your Polychrome.

You can easily exchange your Polychromes for Master Tapes by opening your Menu, click on the store, select the Signal Shop, go over to the Master Tape Exchange tab, and selesct which type of Master Tape you want.

The Store option can easily be unlocked by progressing through the story.

Restore Battery Charge

You can also use your Polychromes to restore your Battery Charge, which are used to farm materials, items, and to enter the Hollow Zero. You can unlock all of these by simply progressing through the story.
