Before Dawn will become available at the Buyan Antique Store after clearing the main story commission, To Be Fuel for the Night.

Talk to the Hesitant Investigator
To begin this side mission, teleport to the Lumite Mine located in the Mining Operation Area and find the Hesitant Investigator.
Start the Generator and Obtain Exploration Equipment
Follow the quest marker to reach the platform. Use the Perception Technique - Retrace to modify the stairs. Continue ascending until you reach the metal platform with the Generator. Operate the Generator by completing the calibration mini-game to unlock the gate.
Once the gate is unlocked, descend the platform and interact with the exploration equipment.
Talk to the Hesitant Investigator
After obtaining the recording equipment, return to the Hesitant Investigator. He will formally invite you to be his guide, as you must assist him in investigating the mining area.
Find a Route to the Lower Mining Area
Open the vertical shutter gate and proceed while following the quest marker. You will encounter Ethereal enemies blocking your path, so defeat them to continue.
You will find another shutter gate, so open it and follow the path to the elevator. Defeat the Miasmic enemies, then continue walking until you reach a corrupted platform. Use the Perception Technique - Retrace to operate it.
Investigate the Corrupted Miasma traces
Once the route for the investigation is cleared, talk to the Hesitant Investigator again. He will ask you to investigate further, so head down and interact with the area covered in Miasma. Defeat the high-risk Ethereal enemy to clear the Miasma surrounding the area, then continue deeper into the mines to investigate.
Explain the Situation to the Hesitant Investigator
After interacting with the target, return to the Hesitant Investigator to report on the Young Vanguard Member. He will thank you for your assistance with the investigation, thus completing the side mission.
