How to Unlock Chess Cultivation - Begin Your Journey with a Game
Reach Inter-Knot LVL 15
Chess Cultivation - Begin Your Journey with a Game is automatically unlocked upon the release of the En-Nah Chess Legend event on July 28, 2025.
To unlock the event itself, however, Proxies must reach Inter-Knot LVL 15 and complete Soldier 11's Agent Story, Mole in the Hole.

Speak to Ju Fufu
Speak to Ju Fufu near the Random Play kiosk in front of Suibian Temple. Belion seems to have run away from home, and she's worried about it.
Agree to find Belion. You will both realize that it could be somewhere near the BooBox.
Find “Belion” at BooBox
Sure enough, Belion's there by the BooBox. Speak to it to learn that it is not Belion, but a fellow lion, Bangboo—Bolion. It will speak of a “celestial realm”, which is actually a chess game, and that it is planning to ascend to the top.
Agree to help Bolion get “promoted” and ascend this realm to achieve enlightenment. You will then be introduced to the Story Mode of the event.
Challenge Ginger
For your first assignment, find Ginger in front of the antique store just in front of the BooBox. Speak to him and agree to a duel to learn the basics of the minigame.
Challenge Shellboo
After besting Ginger, head to Peace Herbal and challenge Shellboo to get introduced to more of the game's mechanics regarding Bonds. Use these mechanics to defeat Shellboo.
Return to Bolion
Return to Bolion after defeating Shellboo and Ginger to learn about Recommended Lineups. After that, it will challenge you to one last friendly duel. Apply all that you've learned and defeat Bolion.
Speak to Ju Fufu Again
Talk to Ju Fufu again by the Random Play kiosk and learn about the six great elders at the top of the leaderboard. She will ask you to discuss your next steps with Bolion.
Discuss Strategy with Bolion
Meet up with Ju Fufu and Bolion to discuss the six great elders and how you can topple them all. Bolion will point out the first of the six elders—Overtimeboo.
Challenge Overtimeboo
Head over to Dew Gardening to challenge Overtimeboo and defeat their Boollseye using a Bangboo unit with high HP that can tolerate the ranged damage from Boollseye. We recommend using Nutty lineup or HP Type units for this match.
Challenge Chalky Devil
Talk to Chalky Devil next, who is sitting beside Overtimeboo near Orchidea's shop in Lumina Square, and challenge the Bangboo.
We recommend using the Scaredy Cat lineup or any two tanky HP-type units in front and one main Attack-type unit in your backline. You also need to get duplicates for your Bangboos to increase their overall stats.
Challenge Alice
Return to Failume Heights and meet Alice, along with Yuzuha, at the cable car. Face off Alice's Baddieboo by using a combination of Attack and HP Type units for this match to avoid having fallen allies that activate her Baddieboo's effect.
Challenge Yuzuha
After the battle with Alice, you will now have to face off against Yuzuha, and she will use her Amillion for this match, which specializes in eliminating your backrow units. You can use another combination of Attack and HP Type units to clear this challenge.
Challenge Miyabi
Teleport to H.A.N.D. Headquarters to meet Hoshimi Miyabi, where she will challenge you using her Magnetiboo. It is best to deploy ranged units like Technique and Spell Type bangboos to dodge the burst damage from her unit.
Meet Up with Ju Fufu
After challenging Miyabi, head over to the Good Goods shop in Failume Heights for your next challenge.
Challenge Reed
Talk to Reed, the woman standing in front of the Good Goods shop in Failume Heights, and challenge her.
We recommend using the Nutty lineup against her team of Rocketboo, Paperboo, and Butler. The team should likely consist of two HP-type units with two stars in front and one Attack-type unit with two stars at the back.
