Zenless Zone Zero 2.0 released on June 06, 2025. Version 2.0 features the release of an entirely new area, Wafei Penninsula, as well as the release of Yixuan, Ju Fufu, and Pan Yinhu!
Version 2.0 marks the start of Season 2 in the Main Story, which also introduces changes to the game, like an entirely new map!
Note on Version 1.8
The most recent livestream confirmed that they will skip Version 1.8 and head straight to the 2.0 Update!
During ZZZ's April 8, 2025 Dev Talk, the Developers did not mention Version 1.8 and instead went straight to Version 2.0 with a brief mention of Version 1.7.
The timeline also lined up with ZZZ's First Anniversary. Historically, in HoYoverse games, x.0 updates are always near the game's anniversary.

Yixuan
Yixuan is an S Rank Auric Ink (Ether) Rupture Agent. She will release in 2.0 Phase 1, which will run from June 06, 2025 to June 25, 2025!
Yixuan is a Wayseeker and the leader of the Yunkui Summit, a new faction set for Version 2.0. She's on the level of a Void Hunter similar to Hoshimi Miyabi, but she is not one of them.

Ju Fufu is an S Rank Fire Stun Agent. She will release in 2.0 Phase 2 from June 25, 2025 to July 15, 2025!
Ju Fufu is a Tiger Thiren that we met during the release of Geppetto in the Lost Void in Version 1.6. She was inside Hollow Zero because she was looking for her Master, Yixuan.

During the 2.0 Livestream, the Orange-Haired Thiren, Blonde Rabbit Thiren, and the Red-Haired Girl were teased, but they were not named.
Alice - Blonde Rabbit Thiren
The scared blonde thiren in the Season 2 Preview was also teased during the 2.0 Livestream. They were using a rapier and had the name Alice on one of their hair tie, so it's likely their name.
Yuzuha - Red-Haired Girl
The prankster in the Season 2 Preview was seen briefly in the livestream as well! They had an open umbrella with the name Yuzuha, which is also likely their name.
There's also the likelihood that they're a Raccoon Thiren due to the decor on their umbrella.
Orphie and Magus - Obol Squad
We also saw a preview of Orphie and Magus. They're part of the Obol Squad and was featured in the new Hollow Zero Lost Void Task Force update. Magus is Orphie's tail and is a separate entity!

She's wearing a Yellow and Black Waifei Peninsula dress-like top with white accents and a thigh strap on her left leg. She also seems to be wearing black shorts underneath it.
A red flower earring can also be seen on her left ear and her usual hairclip is also in place!

Wise's Outfit, Soaring Crane, has been confirmed to be an actual in-game skin that can be obtained through the Main Story in 2.0!
Like Belle, he's wearing a Waifei Peninsula outfit. His top mainly consists of a gray base with black sections on his arm and chest that form a V.
The top is tucked in his high-waist white pants. It's decorated with what appears to be orange rope accents featuring beads and black buttons.

In 2.0, you can mix and match the outfits for Belle and Wise! If you get any outfit or accessory for Phaethon, you'll automatically unlock for the other sibling.
Zenless Zone Zero Season 2 Factions
Yunkui Summit
Yunkui Summit was first teased during Version 1.6's Geppetto quest, where we met Ju Fufu inside Hollow Zero while we were seeking Geppetto's whereabouts.
Since Yixuan and Pan Yinhu have been teased, this confirms Yunkui Summit as a faction to release in Version 2.0!
Obol Squad
During the Dev Talk, it was also revealed that we'll be meeting more Obol Squad Members other than Soldier 11 and Trigger!
Angels of Delusion
Previously known as Virtual Idols, it is an Idol Group within New Eridu. Not much is known about them other than the fact that there are three members!

Spook Shack wasn't shown, or perhaps they were shown but were not explicitly named among the character previews. They are a faction or, rather, an Inter-Knot group chat specialized in solving or sharing paranormal tales.
It's likely that the part in the Season 2 Preview where the Red Haired Girl, Yuzuha, scared a Blonde Rabbit, Thiren, Alice, is part of that faction.
Zenless Zone Zero 2.0 Map - Waifei Peninsula
Failume Heights
The main area we'll be visiting is Failume Heights, which is the city area within the Waifei Peninsula. The Peninsula is a district of Throne Quarter near the Lemnian Hollow.
Failume Heights was built on top of a cliff and an area rich in Porcelume, a material highly resistant to Ether Corruption. Porcelume is also the core industry that runs the Peninsula.
In Version 2.0, hollows and the usual residential areas will be seamlessly integrated to provide a smoother experience!
Aerospace City in the Lemnian Hollow
Aerospace City is an area that the Lemnian Hollow consumed. Aside from training in the Suibian Temple, the Phaethon siblings will begin exploring this ruined city.

Hollow Zero - Phantom Paths
Hollow Zero: Lost Void will get a new update with Yixuan and Ju Fufu's addition to the buff agent pool, as well as some new content!
2.0 Notorious Hunt Boss
2.0 will have a new Notorious Hunt weekly boss that can likely be unlocked after completing the Season 2 Chapter 1 Main Story Quest! This will come with materials that the new Agents will likely need to use.
This boss will also be featured in the Deadly Assault Resets.
2.0 Expert Challenge Boss
The Expert Challenge will also feature a new boss who originates from the Miasma. This will come with materials that the new Agents will likely need to use.

There's also a new stage in the Routine Cleanup for the new drive discs!
2.0 New Gameplay
Suibian Temple
Suibian Temple is an all-new permanent idle management gameplay where you can dispatch Bangboos to collect materials and earn Cloud Crests. You can also get Omnicoins via the level-up rewards.
You can exchange Omnicoins for premium rewards like Polychromes and even accessories!
Miasma
Inside the Lemnian Hollow that swallowed the Aerospace City, the area will be filled with the debuff mechanic, Miasma. Lore-wise, it is capable of causing hallucinations to victims, then eventually turning them into ethereal.
Combat-wise, when a miasma attack from new enemies hits agents, a Miasma Corruption meter will appear below the screen. It will affect all agents within the party.
The more you get hit, the more progress it will have. Once it reaches its limit, it will deal one instance of damage based on the HP percentage of all squad members.
Miasmic Field Barrier and Miasmic Shield
Miasma Elite Enemies, on the other hand, are capable of drawing energy from the miasma to create a Miasmic Field Barrier that results in a Miasma Shield.
The only way to take out the shield is by consistently attacking them. The elite enemy will be in a purified state; in this state, your agents will gain either Energy or Adrenaline depending on your agent's specialty.
After that, you only need to keep attacking until you defeat it.
Miasma Nodes or Tumors
There will also be miasma nodes or tumors scattered around the hollow maps that can be cleared using Perception Techniques.
Perception Techniques
Yixuan will teach us the Perception Techniques that allow venturing into the Hollow much easier. There are three techniques: disintegration that can destroy obstacles in their path, revelation that allows proxies to change the state of an object, and insight for tracking down objectives using ether.
Rupture Specialty and Sheer DMG
Rupture is the newest Agent Specialty in ZZZ. Rupture Agents are capable of doing Sheer DMG, which can deal a lot of damage while ignoring an enemy's defense. Sheer DMG can be boosted through the Sheer Force stat.

Starting Version 2.0, all maps in ZZZ will be three-dimensional, including the Hollow Maps. The City and the Hollow Maps will also be merged to make the transition in the world easier!

There are now two ways to go through the maps. There's a tile version optimized to display all map locations, eliminating the need to switch between maps.
The other is the default one, which resembles a flat map that displays the entirety of New Eridu.
Sectioned Map Sections
It seems ZZZ will be following in Honkai: Star Rail's map system, which lists all the locations you can teleport to off to the side to head to certain locations easily!
All the Waypoints, Chests, and other mechanics are also noted in the maps!
Added Minimap Feature
A minimap has also been added to make navigation within the area easier. You can also toggle a mission focus to make it easier to locate them!
Merging of Special Episode to Phaethon's Story
In future versions, Phaethon's Story and Special Episodes will be merged to create a more cohesive story to deepen Phaethon's involvement.
Increase of Non-DPS Agents on Field
Starting Version 2.0, Non-DPS Agents will remain on the field after switching to the DPS and continue doing DMG on the enemies.
Enemies will also have new attack and defense mechanics to make it more challenging with this new feature.
ZZZ On More Platforms
ZZZ will be on more platforms in the future, starting with its release on Xbox!
Improvements to Events
There will be improvements to older popular minigames like the Grand Marcel Adventure and Bangboo vs Ethereal. We'll also be hosting casual duels among Bangboo or controlling a giant Bangboo in the future.
Slow and casual events will also be introduced, allowing you to hang out with agents over hotpot or watch movies.
Improvements to Older Agents
Older Agents will also see improvements like updated skills and stat buffs, which will not only enhance damage but also enhance their unique traits. This update will also likely include the on-field abilities during combat.
