Character | Best Skills | Explanation |
---|---|---|
Protagonist |
・Mediarama ・Matarukaja ・Dekaja ・Virus Breath ・Heat Wave ・Cruel Attack |
You want to be able to have the option to deal the 3 main physical damage types for this fight (slash, strike, and pierce) to quickly dispatch the statues. Dekaja and Mediarama will again, be handy to dispell buffs and heal your party member if needed. |
Yukari |
・Mediarama ・Recarm |
No further explanation is needed aside from being a decent healer. We chose Yukari once again for the fight instead of Ken due to Ken's weakness to Dark which the Hanged Man primarily uses. |
Aigis |
・Dekunda ・Cruel Attack ・Myriad Arrows |
Aigis will be our secondary or main damage dealer depending on the main character's Persona setup. Can also deal Pierce and Strike damage which can quickly down two of the three statues. |
Mitsuru |
・Bufudyne ・Rakunda ・Concentrate |
For our last character, we want to have Mitsuru. While she won't be able to inflict any weaknesses on the statue (save for her own attack), she can charge up damage with Concentrate to deal huge damage to the Hanged Man when he flops down. She can also reduce the Hanged Man's defense. |
Persona | Best Skills | Explanation |
---|---|---|
Koumokuten |
・Herculean Strike ・Gigantic Fist |
High Endurance with high physical strength. It also have strong AoE Physical attacks that can damag both Jin and Takaya at the same time |
Hecatoncheires |
・Heat Wave ・Vile Assault ・Regenerate 2 ・Endure |
High defense and resistant to darkness and strike. It can also use Piercing attacks via Vile Assault and Heat Wave for slash attacks. |
Hariti |
・Mediarama ・Samarecarm ・Me Patra |
A Persona focused on healing skills. Consider Hariti as a backup Persona in Yukari becomes incapacitated and a healer is immediately required. |
The following tips can help you beat Hanged Man in battle.
To hit the Hanged Man's main body, you'll have to defeat the statues it summons. The three small statues it summons are each weak to one single type of physical damage.
Left statue is weak to strike, middle is weak to slash, and right statue is weak to pierce. With the corresponding AoE attack, you'll be able to chip their HP and use an All out Attack in one turn.
As your window of damage is limited, you'll want to focus on weakening the Hanged Man's defense before launching your attacks on it. Use Rakunda to weaken its defense and buff your team with Matarukaja to further deplte its HP faster.
It will also include Dekaja in its moves when using Heat Riser to remove your party's buffs which can reduce its damage output as it will dedicate one turn to removing your buffs.
The hanged man can use AoE dark attacks as well as instant kill dark moves. Avoid bringing persona with to Dark (either from the main character or party members) as this can further lengthen its combos from Grim Transcendence
When it uses Grim Transcendence, it will use a mix of attack skills and buffs to strengthen its next attack on its next turn. Always be sure to use Dekaja to remove its buffs from Heat Riser.
