Experience gained from battles is split between your party members in Persona 3 Reload (P3R). Learn more on how experience is shared, how you and your Persona earn experience, and how the Growth skill works!
List of Contents

The experience you earn after battle will be split among all your party members, including you. This means that if you earn a total of 100 EXP in a battle, this will be split into 25 EXP for all four members of the party.
Since experience is split between party members, you will earn more EXP the less members you have. This is a good tactic if you plan on farming levels or if you want lower level members to catch up! This is also something to consider if you want to make your main character reach the highest levels possible to fuse more Personas!

You can also have your lower level allies catch up to your level by using the Great Clock that appears in Yabbashah block or higher! It will randomly appear when you unlock locked chests, so make sure to open some up once you are in that area.

Additionally, you will earn less experience than you were supposed to if you fight against enemies lower than your level. With that, it is recommended you stay around the highest floors you can reach if you want to farm levels.

After every battle, only your currently equipped Persona will earn the split experience. For instance, you started the battle with Orpheus, but later on you switched Personas to Jack Frost. Due to this, only Jack Frost will earn the split EXP, even if you used Orpheus.

If your Persona has the Growth skill, they will passively earn EXP without being equipped. However, the percentage that they earn will be based on the split experience you earn.
For example, your Persona has Growth 1 (25% EXP Share) and your party earned 100 EXP. This would mean that you earned 25 EXP, and the Persona will only get 25% of the 25 EXP, which is roughly 6 EXP.
