Players in Once Human can get power and electricity for their homes by building a Solar Generator. Find out how to build a Solar Generator, and how to set up power and electricity in your base in this guide.
List of Contents
To get electricity and power in the base, there needs to be a power generator facility that can produce electricity. The Solar Generator is the simplest option that will fulfill this role.
Note that you can only have 4 generator facilities initially, and that the Solar Generator specifically needs to be placed outside where natural light can reach it.
Building a Solar Generator will cost 15 Steel Ingots, 8 Copper Ingots, 5 Glass, 4 Refined Parts, 4 Fireproof Plastic, 8 Electronic Parts, and 3 Fuses.
Once these materials have been gathered, press B to enter Build Mode, and right-click to open the Build Menu. The Solar panel is under Power Facilities, in the Facilities tab.
Players can unlock the Solar Panel in the Memetics screen, under the Tab tab.
Once you've built a Solar Generator, or any other power source, enter Build Mode again and hover over the generator. Press X to begin wiring the power source around your base.
Move the wire onto a facility that needs electricity, and press X again to complete the wiring.
Each generator facility provides a limited amount of power, measured in Watts. Note that different facilities require different amounts of power, and that the generators can only power so many at a time.
To avoid having wires stringing across the base from the generator to other facilities, you can use Terminals and Pylons to organize the wire placement in your base.
You can also choose to manage how electricity is used by your facilities through Switches and Switch Pylons. Facilities connected to these switches will only count towards consuming energy when switched on.
