✗ Magic Skills cannot crit ✗ Less consistent than a normal Strength Build |
Running the Luck Build will increase your chances of performing critical hits and inflicting status ailments on your enemies. It also raises your item acquisition rate, enabling you to use items for support when needed.
The Luck Build will mostly rely on Strength for your offensive capabilities since Magic Skills inherently cannot crit.
Stat | Priority Rating |
---|---|
Strength | ★★★★☆ |
Magic | ☆☆☆☆☆ |
Endurance | ★★☆☆☆ |
Agility | ★★★☆☆ |
Luck | ★★★★★ |
Running a Luck Build will require you to raise both the Luck and Strength Stats, as both will increase the likelihood of performing powerful Critical Hits against enemies.
Archetype | Explanation |
---|---|
The Merchant Archetype is the ideal Archetype when running a Luck Build. Offensively, some of its Skills have an increased Crit Chance, which synergizes well with the Luck Stat. Besides that, Merchants are also great for farming items, which again synergizes with Luck. | |
Strength Build Archetypes | Generally speaking, Archetypes used in a Strength Build are also great for Luck Builds since they benefit from the increased Crit Chance. All you need to do is make some modifications and change the Inherited Skills to boost Crit. |
If you plan to run a Luck Build, consider using the Merchant Archetype, as well as any Archetype that uses Slash, Pierce, or Strike attacks. The best examples for these are the Archetypes that also benefit from using a Strength Build.
You could also lean towards more Status Ailment oriented Archetypes, but these are more situational and overall perform worse than a Critical Attacking set.
All Archetypes and How to Unlock

Fortune Abacus | Hero's Cuirass |
Gear | Accessory |
Knight's Last Stand | |
Inherited Skills | |
Spirit of Adversity
Almighty Boost Charge Concentrate |
This is a general build that aims to increase the Merchant Lineage's Crit Chance and Damage. Optionally, you can use the Fortune God's Abacus instead to increase the damage of your Money Skills. The downside however is that the weapon has less Attack and the spells will cost triple their base amount.
If you do use this Fortune God's Abacus, make sure to replace Spirit Adversity with a Slash, Pierce, or Strike Skill so that you have an extra attack that doesn't waste your money.
How to Unlock Merchant Archetype and Skills
Archetypes that use Strength-based Slash, Pierce, and Strike Skills generally also want Luck to be on the high side. Getting Critical Hits is extremely valuable since the attack will only consume half a Turn Icon and the damage boost stacks with other buffs you may already have!
Skill | Type | Description |
---|---|---|
Diligent Desciple |
Passive |
✦ Brawler Increases critical hit rate by 5%. Boost increases further if Archetypes of the same Lineage are present. |
Trader's Summit |
Passive |
✦ Merchant Increases effects of consumables by 1.2x. Increases further if Archetypes of the same Lineage are present. |
Rebellion |
Support |
✦ Commander Increases Critical Rate for one ally for 3 turns. |
Sleep Shot |
Pierce |
✦ Gunner Only usable from back row. Deals weak physical Pierce damage to one enemy. May inflict Sleep. |
Poison Shot |
Pierce |
✦ Gunner Only usable from back row. Deals medium physical Pierce damage to one enemy. May inflict Poison. |
Aim Support |
Passive |
✦ Gunner Increases Hit Rate by 10%. Boost increases further if Archetypes of the same Lineage are present. |
Hex Shot |
Pierce |
✦ Gunner Only usable from back row. Deals heavy physical Pierce damage to one enemy. May inflict Hex. |
Art of Dance |
Passive |
✦ Masked Dancer Increases success rate of skills that inflict status ailments. |
The Passive and Support Skills listed above will help increase critical hit rate, item potency consumption, and status ailment infliction. The Hex Shot, Poison Shot, and Sleep Shot are from the Gunner Archetype, with all of these skills relying on the Luck Stat to be successful.
If you want to access a specific skill from other Archetypes you haven't equipped in your party, try using the Inheritance Skill to assign the desired skill you want to the Archetype you choose to have in battle.
Character | Explanation |
---|---|
Protagonist | You will be able to freely control the stat allocation for the protagonist, which makes him ideal to have when running a Luck Build. |
Strohl | Strohl's stat allocation prioritizes Strength compared to the other stats, which can help you dish out powerful Critical Hits against enemies. One of his Bond Abilities also increases his Crit Chance against certain enemies! |
Heismay | Heismay's Agility is great if you want to use Luck to farm items. This way he can act first and has an increased chance to flee if all you want to do is Steal items from enemies. |
Weapon | Armor |
---|---|
Fortune Abacus
Fortune God's Abacus |
Hero's Cuirass |
Gear | Accessory |
Knight's Last Stand |
Radiant Crystal
Gambler's Manual Mirror of Atziluth |
Besides the weapon types of Strength Archetypes, you'll also want to look out for Abaci for the Merchant Lineage. Make sure to look out for these weapons on your journey.
If you don't have the best possible equipment yet, then you can use whatever you have available in the meantime.
