Character | Explanation |
---|---|
Protagonist | The Protagonist will be taking up the Prince Archetype. He will prioritize buffing himself and dealing steady damage with Almighty Skills like Royal Slash. It is recommended that he inherit the passive Almighty Boost from Tycoon for additional damage. |
Hulkenberg | Hulkenberg will take on the Royal Knight Archetype. She will focus on tanking as much damage as possible for the party with Holy Knight's Proclamation. It is recommended that she inherit Front Boost from Warlord and Guard Lore from the Knight. |
Junah | Junah can take up the Royal Masked Dancer Archetype with the Trickster's Mask her main job will be to inflict weaknesses on the enemy and debuffing. The Devourer of Flame doesn't have a weakness so making one is a priority. Make sure to use Vidyartha as well to debuff the dragon and stop them from casting their party-kill skill. |
Eupha | Eupha will be taking up the Royal Summoner Archetype and inherit Makarakarn from Faker and Dekunda from Healer. Her main role will be similar to Junah's and will mostly be in charge of using Support Skills for the party. |

This battle will be tricky and will require quite a bit of planning to win. The main concern that you will have for this enemy is that its skill Burn Down deals a whopping 9,999 worth of fire damage.
The main strategy for this battle is to debuff and inflict weaknesses on the enemy with the Royal Masked Dancer and the Royal Summoner. One of the key things in this strategy is to have the Royal Masked Dancer cast Hellfire Dance on the dragon. If you've prepared correctly then you should have equipment or skills that can either nullify or repel fire attacks.
Meanwhile, the Prince will be in charge of dealing consistent damage through Almighty attacks and the occasional item use if needed. The Royal Knight will be tanking a lot of the single-hit attacks to minimize the damage to the party.

How to Beat Devourer of Flames |
---|
|
The Devourer of Flames is one of the most difficult bosses to handle in the game. It is recommended that you do the Devourer of Nations and Devourer of Stars before this boss because the item that will drop from them will be very useful for this fight. It is also highly recommended that you try and tackle this dragon when you are at a higher level as well.
One of the key things you would need to do is to prepare. Listen to what the informant will tell you and prepare your party accordingly. From the skills that you have available to the equipment your team will be using. The things that you will need to worry about are fire damage, skills or equipment that can repel magic attacks, and getting charmed.
Item | Effects | How to Get |
---|---|---|
Cardinal Dragon Raiment | Nullifies Fire. | Trial of the Dragon: Bygone Legacy |
Cardinal Dragon Robe | Nullifies Fire. | Trial of the Dragon: Mad Mischief |
Flameseal Corselet | Nullifies Fire. | The Elderly Entemophile 38 Gold Beetle reward. |
Crimson Split Shoes | Repels Fire. | Grab the Pure White Shoes from a chest Reward from the first floor of the Disgraced Ruins and have it purified at the St. Fermis Church. |
On top of the standard skills that come with every Archetype, you have the option to add on more skills by inheriting them from other archetypes.
Consider inheriting skills that can help you in the fight, such as passive skills which can greatly improve your defense and offense depending. A good example of this is having Almighty Boost on the Prince which increases Almighty attacks by 20% and Front Boost on the Royal Knight to get an additional 10% boost for physical skill Attack for the front row.
Don't want to waste your MP on using recovery skills. Stock up on MP and HP recovery supplies in preparation for the battle.
Make sure to have a good selection of status ailment curatives for the Dragon's charm, and food that can further buff your party.
Even if you think you'll Survive another round, don't risk it. Heal when you can. The dragon has the Great Dragon Shriek Skill that adds another five turn icons to its round. It will try its best to max out its attack buff and do as much damage as it can, and this is where it usually releases its party-kill skill.
Stick to the side of caution and try to keep your health up when you can.
One of the tricky but good ways to beat this boss is to hit it with its own fire. To do this make sure that your party has equipment or skill, like Makarakan, that can Repel Fire Attacks.
The dragon can block fire, but this is an easy fix just have the Royal Masked Dancer cast Hellfire Dance to inflict a one-time weakness to fire. If you time this right then when it does the party-kill attack you will be reflecting the damage right back at the Devourer of Flames.
