You can easily save by pressing the shortcut key for save. The game tells you which button this is at the very start. For PC users, this is the 2-number button.

If you forget the shortcut key, you can easily save by going to the Menu. Then, pick System, Save, and an appropriate spot for the save file.

Can You Turn Off Autosave?

You Can't Turn Off Autosave

As of now, the game doesn't have a feature where you can turn off autosave. The game usually autosaves when there is a major battle ahead.

It is recommended for you to save whenever you can. You could even have multiple save states to visit previous chapters or to even retry fighting major bosses.

Where Can You Save?

Only at Safe Places

Metaphor ReFantazio Magla Hollows

Players can only save in towns, the Gauntlet Runner or any other locations that are safe. This means players can't save at the dungeons unless they're at a Magla Hollows.
