Unlocked Through Story Progression

As you progress through the story, you will naturally obtain Rank 1 Bond with More, which unlocks the Bright-Eyed Student ability. Bright-Eyed Student allows you and the party to change Archetypes in the Akademeia.

Akadameia Guide

Allows Players to Switch Roles in Combat

With Bright-Eyed Student unlocked, you can now check the Archetype Tree when you talk to More in the Akademeia. You can now reassign Archetypes to party members with an initial MAG cost, and reassign yourself a role if you wish.

This unlocks a new way to tackle combat as now you can switch your party members' affinities, base stats, skills, and equipment in combat, allowing you to experiment and see the best combination for your game!

Powers That Allow the Party to Fight Humans

Archetypes are mysterious powers from beyond that call onto our members and allows them to transform into a powerful being that allows you to go toe-to-toe against the Humans. This is Metaphor's main job system and you will unlock more throughout your journey in Euchronia.

There are 14 basic Archetype lineages, obtained through forming your bonds with the protagonist's Followers. Through strengthening these bonds by spending time with Followers, players can unlock more than 40 Archetypes!
