Players who've pre-ordered the game on Xbox and PC can preload the game starting September 25, 2024. This coincides with the release of the playable Demo that lets you play through the prologue and transfer your save to the main game once it's released!

While there is no official announcement for PlayStation preloads, most games on these consoles allow for preloads 48 Hours before the game's release. If you've already pre-ordered the game on PlayStation, keep an eye out in case you're allowed to preload the game on or before October 9, 2024!

Benefits of Preloading

Preloading allows you to play the game as soon as possible once it's been released! However, there still might be some extra files you'll need to download depending on your console, but you'll still get to play the game sooner than those who still need to download everything on Day 1.

How to Preload on Steam

1	First, search "Metaphor: ReFantazio" via the search bar and click on the game.
2	Next, select the game and click Add to Cart. In the next screen, make sure you select to purchase for your account.
3	Afterwards, click to view your cart and choose a payment method to confirm your purchase.
4	After you've successfully pre-ordered the game, you can now preload it from your library by selecting the Preload button.

How to Preload on Xbox

1	First, click on the Store and search for "Metaphor: ReFantazio".
2	Next, pick the game version you wish to purchase and then select Pre-Order.
3	Afterwards, input your preferred payment option and Purchase the game.
4	Finally, you should be able to select the option to Install after you've bought the game.

How to Preload on PlayStation

1	First, open the PlayStation Store and search for "Metaphor: ReFantazio".
2	Next, select the option to Pre-Order and pick which version of the game you wish to purchase.
3	Afterwards, confirm your preferred payment option and Purchase the game.
4	Finally, the game should automatically download once the preload is available.

Play the Demo First if You're Unsure

If you're not yet sure about pre-ordering the game, you can try out the Metaphor: ReFantazio Demo first. If you decide to get the game after finishing the demo, you'll get to carry over your save data to the game on release!

Metaphor: ReFantazio Preload File Size

75GB for Xbox and 80GB for PC

If you've already pre-ordered Metaphor: ReFantazio on Xbox or PC, the preload file size will be 75GB and 80GB respectively. Make sure you have enough space before downloading, otherwise, you'll need to delete other games or files to free up some storage for the game.

As for the playable Demo, you will need at least 60GB if you're playing on Xbox and 64GB if you're playing on PC.

No Info for PlayStation

Unfortunately, since there's been no official announcement for preload dates on PlayStation, there's no info yet on the required storage space for the game. However, we can assume the file size for preloads would be around the 70~80GB range based on the size for Xbox and PC.
