A Guiding Gift Walkthrough

Complete Ancestral Solution

While this quest can be accepted as soon as you start Obtain Drakodios, you'll need to complete Ancestral Solution first for the quest to appear. Once that quest is done, you'll find the Hoarse Fisher-Crone outside the Inn on Virga Island.

After talking to her, you'll be tasked with collecting 1-3 Polar Stones from the Dragon Temple. You only need one to complete the quest, but you get extra rewards for every extra Polar Stone you submit.

Ancestral Solution Quest Guide

Travel to the Dragon Temple

After you've accepted the quest, you can board the Gauntlet Runner and head to the Dragon Temple. It's best to do this when the weather is Fine, unless you want to fight tougher enemies during bad weather.

Collect Polar Stones

Once you're inside the temple, pick up every shining blue item on the ground to look for Polar Stones. You can only do this in the first two areas since, after that, the blue shines will all be regular item drops.

Return to the Hoarse Fisher-Crone

After collecting the Polar Stones, return to Virga Island and talk to the Hoarse Fisher-Crone to complete this quest. However, it's highly recommended to do this after completing Obtain Drakodios so that you don't have to waste time going back to the Dragon Temple.

Extra Rewards for Extra Polar Stones

As mentioned earlier, if you collect extra Polar Stones, you will also get a Sumptuous Magla Feast and Divine Elixir if you collected 2 or 3 Polar Stones respectively.
