Character Explanation
Metaphor ReFantazio- Protagonist IconProtagonist The Protagonist will be using the Prince Archetype, focusing on dealing as much Almighty damage as he can. This dragon can repel everything so this is one of the only ways you could hurt it.
Metaphor ReFantazio- Heismay IconHeismay Heismay will be taking up the Ninja Archetypeand will need to inherit Knights Proclamation from the Knight and Shadow Dweller from the Assassin.Use Knigth's Proclamation to draw the enemies attention. Doing this can slow down its casting. Heismay will depend on his passives and agility to dodge most attacks. This will also help in cutting down the enemy's turn if successful.
Metaphor ReFantazio- Junah IconJunah Junah will be using the Trickster Archetype focusing on debuffing the enemy with Vidyartha and attacking with the synthesis skill Miracle Cirque extreme almighty damage without consuming MP.
Metaphor ReFantazio- Strohl IconStrohl Strohl will be taking up the Warlord Archetype and will be split between providing buffs for the party and attacking with Almighty Skill Megidola.

Feel free to swap any team members for each role. If you've built another support other than the ones mentioned above, or if you feel like using a different offensive character, go ahead and adjust the build. Just make sure your protagonist can support whoever goes in the front line.

This is another tricky battle to tackle. The main roadblock here is that the Devourer of Stars can deflect all attack types, limiting your options to Almighty Skills or weakness infliction. The Dragon also likes to cast a party-wide attack that inflicts Hex.

The strategy here is to distract the Dragon with the Ninja while the other party members do damage. A maxed Ninja will have very high agility with passive skills that further improve this. Use Knight's Proclamation to try and limit the dragon to physical attacks. This will have the combination effect of centralizing the damage to one party member while having the chance to cut off the Dragon's attack every time the Ninja successfully dodges.

Damage will be dealt between the Prince, Trickster, and Warlord. With the Trickster, and Warlord giving additional buffs and debuffs.

How to Beat Devourer of Stars

How to Beat Devourer of Stars

Use Equipment that Gives Immunity to Hex

Metaphor ReFantazio - Devourer of Stars - Tip 1
Half the battle is your preparation for it. One of the hardest things about this battle is that the dragon likes to cast Hex and debuffs almost every round. Its Dragon Shriek also adds a whopping seven additional turn icons.

To prepare for this battle make sure to have equipment and accessories that can mitigate the Hex Status Ailment.

Equipment that Stop Hex

Item Description
Sancturion Gloves Prevents Hex, Strength +4, Magic +4
Venomward Charm Prevents physical status ailments. Prevents Poison, Malady, Paralysis, Hex, Burn, and Frostbite. All stats +3
Malice Screen Prevents Hex.

Hex Status Effect and How to Cure

Use Almighty Skills and Inflict Weakness

Metaphor ReFantazio - Devourer of Stars - Tip 2
The Devourer of Stars will repel everything. The only way you can get any damage on it is through Almighy Skills or by inflicting one-time weakness through a skill.

The Dragon also prioritizes removing buffs and debuffs so stacking those on will help waste its turn icons.

List of All Almighty Skills

Health is Your Priority

Metaphor ReFantazio - Devourer of Stars - tip 3
This is a battle of attrition, so it is recommended to always keep careful watch on your health and heal when you can.

List of All Recovery Skills

Prioritize Removing Status Ailment

Metaphor ReFantazio - Devourer of Stars - tip 4
The Dragon will try to cast Hex every single round. On top of this, it will also try to debuff you. Make sure to be prepared and have items that can nullify these effects if you don't have equipment that can prevent them. If possible have party members inherit the Instant Recovery Skill from the Dark Knight, this will let you recover from status ailments after a round.

Items and Food that Cure Hex

Item Description
Panacea A cure-all liquid medicine. Cures any status ailment for one ally.
Almighty Panacea A miracle-cure with an all-encompassing effect. Cures status ailments for all allies.
Coney Stew A nutrient-rich stew of meat and vegetables simmered in milk. Cures status ailments for all allies.

2 things; it's not really mentioned above but your health gets capped down to 300 for the entire fight, and also, royal thief is super broken for this fight. I nearly made it through unscathed because he just couldn't hit heismay with maxed agility. Other than that, just debuff and buff constantly with your two supports and use your prince's royal slash and it's easy peasy

From my experience, the dragon will prioritize removing buffs/debuffs if they reach teir 3. So you can use Commander skills to stay under the threshold. You can also increase the buff/debuff by another layer when it's about to expire to force the dragon to waste a turn removing it.
