Seeker Archetype

The Protagonist's starting archetype is the Seeker, which automatically unlocks during the first tutorial boss fight. The Seeker Archetype primarily focuses on Wind Skills and supporting the party with heals and buffs.

Do note that players can change character Archetypes later on to build a party that best suits one's needs!

Seeker is a versatile Archetype that offers both strength and magic skills. It’s a reliable choice for reclassing, especially if you’re still figuring out how to balance your stats!

How to Unlock Seeker Archetype and Best Skills

Merchant

Archetype	Class Details
Merchant	Unlock via: Brigitta (Bond Rank 1) Description: Possesses skills that uses MAG to attack instead of MP. Learns skills that increase the drop rate of spoils, as well as prolonging effects of buffs and the like.

The Protagonist is also the best candidate for the Merchant Archetype, mainly because you can farm items and money with this class! It also gives you early access to an Almighty Skill, Gold Attack, allowing you to hit enemies without getting resisted.

You can unlock this class by bonding with Brigitta, which you can do during your first free time in Grand Trad.

Invest in Luck to Land Crits Easily

If you decide to keep this class for the Protagonist, make sure to invest in Luck, as most of the skills in this Archetype require it.

Protagonist's Canon Name

No Canon Name

While the game doesn't give the Protagonist a canon name when you're choosing one, there are different default names depending on the language you've chosen. For English, the default name of the protagonist is Will.

Besides Will, other names that the Main Character is called are Travelling Boy, Protagonist, and Hero.

Default Name in All Supported Languages

If you want to check the default name for the protagonist in every language, all you need to do is change the language. A notification will pop up after changing stating that the hero has been renamed to the languages default name.

Is the Protagonist Silent?

Has Voice Lines in Certain Scenes

Unlike other Atlus titles like Persona, the Protagonist in Metaphor: ReFantazio isn't silent and has some voice lines during dialogue choices and certain cutscenes. For those worried about this, he won't always be talking and he only speaks up in certain scenes throughout the game.

By default, the Protagonist is Male. This cannot be changed, but you still have access to other party members such as Hulkenberg, Junah, and Eupha, if you wish to use female characters.
