Metaphor: ReFantazio officially released its demo on September 25, 2024, allowing all players to try the game early! The demo is available on all supported platforms and can be accessed by visiting your console's storefront.

Players who complete the demo, which features the prologue of the game, can carry over their save file now with the game released on October 11, 2024.

Difficulty cannot be changed for Storyteller and Regicide midway.

If playing at a normal pace, the demo can take up to 5-6 hours of gameplay. This is without skipping through the cutscenes and while playing on easy to normal difficulty.

However, expect a longer playthrough if you choose Hard difficulty, as combat in this mode can take up a lot of time to complete.

The demo features the entire prologue of the game, from the moment you step inside Euchronia to your first missions as a recruit. Since this is the prologue, you'll also get your first taste of the game's combat system and exploration as the story progresses.

You'll also meet some of your first followers and teammates as the game progresses. For instance, Gallica and Strohl will join you early on and guide you through your first mission in the fortress!

The demo also lets you experience the thrill of boss fights, with a few encounters in the prologue. This means you'll also explore the first few dungeons of the game before facing these bosses!

There are around 40 archetypes in the game, and you'll get to try at least seven of them in the demo! Feel free to experiment with them to get a sense of what to aim for on release and which builds to try as you allocate points to your stats.

Three Days Free Time

Once you've completed the prologue, you'll have three days of free time to do as you please! You can explore the city or revisit other areas to train. Just keep in mind that after the three days, the demo ends, and you'll have to wait for the full release to continue!

Do note that the demo can end even before three days are up once you've progressed enough into the story.

PC and Xbox players have similar file sizes for the demo, both requiring around 60 GB to download. For PC, you'll need 58.71 GB, while Xbox will need a bit more at 59.06 GB. Make sure to free up some space before downloading the demo.

25 GB for PlayStation Users

The demo has a relatively smaller file size for PlayStation users, requiring only 24.71 GB to download. Make sure to free up some space, preferably 25 GB, to accommodate the demo!
