What Are Bond Abilities?

Unlocks Archetypes, Bonuses, and Combat Abilities

Bonding with followers rewards you with several benefits in the game, including bonuses, combat abilities, and Archetype Unlocks and Evolutions.

All initial bonds allow you to study Archetypes, granting you the ability to assign them to your teammates. Progress the bond further, and you'll receive additional bonuses, such as a discount on MAG costs and combat abilities like Guard Duty, which allows Hulkenberg to protect you from weaknesses!

Unlock Bright-Eyed Student and Study Archetypes to Change Archetypes

Unlocking Archetypes doesn't necessarily mean that you'll immediately be able to reassign them. All unlocked Archetypes need to be studied first before you can change to them or assign them to your teammates.

In addition to studying Archetypes, you also need to unlock Bright-Eyed Student to reassign and change Archetypes! You can unlock this as soon as you meet More in the Akademeia during the Prologue.
