The Secret Final Boss of Metaphor: ReFantazio can be unlocked by avoiding the Melancholia Crystals at Tyrant's Star Dungeon. Read on to learn how to unlock the Secret Boss, what would happen if you beat it, and what the differences are from the final boss.

How to Unlock the Secret Boss
Avoid the Melancholia Crystals
To unlock Destroyer Charadius' secret form avoid the Melancholia Crystals that you will come across on every level of the Tyrant's Star Dungeon during the Save the Country Quest on the 10th month.
Even after the party prompts you to do it don't approach the crystal and just continue going to the elevators that will take you to the upper floor where you will meet Archdemon Louis.
By not destroying the Crystals not only will Louis be stronger but you also won't receive the best weapon for your party's archetype that the crystals drop after defeating the enemies that spawn from them.

Secret and Final Boss Differences
Harder Version of Destroyer Charadrius
Rather than a new enemy, the secret final boss is actually an overpowered form of the Destroyer Charadrius. He will be stronger and tougher because destroying the Crystals will weaken Louis and decrease his turn icons during your final battle.
There will be no actual physical changes but he will be buffed with stronger attacks, higher health, and eight turn icons per round that he can extend with an additional four icons with Soul Scream, giving him a total of twelve turns.
If you want to test your limits, it's recommended that you challenge this boss with a maxed-out party by fully leveling your characters and increasing your Acrchetypes rank.
