Alonzo can be unlocked as soon as you have some free days in Martira, starting from 06/30. During your first free night there, Alonzo will inform you that you were pickpocketed while talking to a stranger, resulting in the Grius's Memento being stolen.
To get Alonzo's help, you'll need to persuade him by reaching Imagination Rank 2. This will trigger the A Dagger, a Ring, and a Rake Side Quest, which you must complete to unlock his bond. The quest involves a dungeon crawl, requiring you to navigate the Abandoned Tomb to retrieve Malveno's Ring for Alonzo.
