How to Unlock Bardon
Complete Apprehend the Real Kidnapper
Some time around 07/05, you can get the Apprehend the Real Kidnapper Main Quest. You'll have 10 days before the deadline to complete this, but if you want to start Bardon's bond, complete it as soon as you can, and he'll be available to bond afterward.

The protagonist can receive the Desertglass Lantern from Bardon during the final free time of the game. Do note that this can only be obtained by ranking Bardon up to 8, so be sure to spend time with him as much as possible!
Bardon Follower Bonuses
Care Package
You can unlock Care Package after leveling Bardon’s Bond to Level 3. With this ability, Bardon sends you random consumable items at the start of each day, with increased rarity at higher bond levels. This ability triggers randomly, so be sure to spend more days traveling to get more items from Bardon.

| 5 | Escape Artist | Improves the chances of escaping from Squad Battle. |
| 6 | Commander Veneration | Significantly reduces the MAG cost of studying the Commander Lineage. |
| 6 | Rapid Swapper | Halves the Turn Icon cost of switching with a reserve member during Squad Battle. |
| 7 | Escape Master | With certain exceptions, escape will always succeed during Squad Battle. |
