Greatworm Homo Butera is a boss that can be fought during the Apprehend the Real Kidnapper Quest and in the The Right to Rule Quest in Metaphor: Refantazio. Read on to learn how to beat Homo Butera, its weaknesses, rewards, and the recommended party setup and Archetypes to use against it.

You will encounter Homo Butera twice in the game. The first encounter will be when you are searching for Heismay in the Apprehend the Real Kidnapper quest. The second encounter will be during The Right to Rule.
There will be no rewards during your first encounter with Homo Butera. Reducing its health to below 20% in the Apprehend the Real Kidnapper quest will trigger a cut scene. The party will be swallowed and you will enter the Giant Sandworm's Belly Dungeon.

At the end of a battle, receiving a Spoil slightly reduces the EXP and A-EXP gained. If no Spoil is obtained, you'll receive the regular amount of EXP and A-EXP.

Protagonist | The Protagonist will be taking up the Wizard Archetype and will focus on dealing damage with Ice Skills to target its weakness. Since Masked Dancer will be in the party he can also use the Synthesis Skill Blizzaton for heavy damage. |
Junah | Junah will be taking on the Masked Dancer Archetype with the Wizard's Mask. Other than using Blizza through the wizard's mask, she can also use the Synthesis Skill Hellfire Dance to give the enemy weakness to fire and attack with Infernal Vortex or Crimson Flame. |
Hulkenberg | Hulkeberg will be using the General Archetype to provide party support through Matarukaja and Shelter Formation while dealing additional ice damage to the enemy. |
Heismay | Heismay will be using the Faker Archetype and his main role will be to debuff the enemy with the Faker's Support Skills. |

Greatworm Homo Butera is weak to Ice skills. Make sure to have the Mage Archetype focus on dealing ice damage to the the enemy while the Warrior Archetype provides additional damage with his slash skills. The Seeker Archetype will be in charge of support by healing with Dei as needed and improving attack power with Tarukaja. |

There isn't much difference between the first and second encounter for Homo Butera, the biggest advantage that you have is that now you have better archetypes to take it down. Your Wizard and Masked Dancer Archetype will be in charge of dealing most of the damage. Focus on using ice skills to hit its weakness and get another turn. The Masked Dancer can also give the enemy one time weakness to Fire Skills to allow more options for higher damage. The Faker and General Archetypes will be in charge of support. The Faker for enemydebuffs and the General for party buffs. |

Homo Butera is Weak to Ice Skills take advantage of skills that deal this damage to get additional turns during combat, this is especially recommended for your second encounter when you have more archetypes to plan your strategy with.
During your first encounter with Homo Butera, you can also use items that deal Ice Damage.

Demonic Ice Sickle | Consumable | A frosty icicle as sharp as an animal fang. Deals 200 Ice damage to one enemy. |
Snow Queen's Breath | Consumable | The power of an ice fairy dwells within this pure crystal. Deals 200 Ice damage to all enemies. |
Homo Butera is a tanky boss. Try to use your Support Skills to debuff the enemy. Likewise, you should also improve your chances by giving your party buffs to improve your defense and offense.
Make sure to keep an eye on your health during battle and use your recovery skills like Dei when needed.
