A well-rounded build is great for Archetypes that balance both Physical and Magic attacks.
Prioritizing Strength and Magic gives you an advantage in combat while also allocating points to Endurance for defense.
Archetype | Explanation |
---|---|
Seeker | The Seeker Archetype excels in both Physical and Magical attacks, making it highly versatile. |
Summoner | Summoners use minions to fight in their place. These minions can excel in either Physical or Magic attacks, so both stats are crucial. |
Masked Dancer | Masked Dancers can adapt their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses by changing masks, making them very flexible. |
Gunner | Gunners are tricky because they can only attack from the back row. However, they possess both physical and magic skills in their arsenal and can inflict status ailments on enemies as well. |
Stat | Priority Rating |
---|---|
Strength | ★☆☆☆☆ |
Magic | ★★★★★ |
Endurance | ★★★★☆ |
Agility | ★★☆☆☆ |
Luck | ★★☆☆☆ |
This build prioritizes Magic as the main stat, followed by Endurance for defense.
It's ideal for Archetypes that focus on elemental magic, healing, or support skills.
Archetype | Explanation |
---|---|
Mage | Mages thrive with this build, which maximizes Magic for stronger spells. |
Healer | Healers benefit from increased Magic for stronger healing and more MP. High Endurance ensures they survive longer in battle. |
Commander | Commanders use Fire magic and buffs, making this Magic-focused build highly beneficial. |
Summoner | Summoners have a wide coverage of magic skills at their disposal as long as you have the proper vessels. |
Magic is one of the most useful stats in the early game, especially with early magic-based Archetypes like Mage, Seeker, and Healer. All these Archetypes rely on magic, making it a valuable stat to invest in.
Should You Go For Strength or Magic Stat?
Stat | Priority Rating |
---|---|
Strength | ★★★★★ |
Magic | ★☆☆☆☆ |

Agility | ★★☆☆☆ |
Luck | ★★★☆☆ |
This build maximizes Strength for powerful physical attacks, with Endurance and Luck as a secondary focus to maximize both Defense and Critical hit chance!

Brawler | Uses HP for attacks and benefits from boosted Strength stat, increasing both HP and damage. |
Berserker | Focuses on inflicting maximum physical damage and self-buffing for stronger attacks. |
Merchant | Merchants inflict Almighty damage, which cannot be blocked or resisted by enemies! Additionally, Merchants have a high Hit rate, ensuring they always hit their targets. However, the trade-off is that using skills costs money instead of MP. |
This build is most recommended for the late game, as you gain access to the Prince Archetype by then. It relies heavily on Strength, so make sure to invest in it before unlocking the archetype.

At present, Metaphor: ReFantazio does not offer any respec option, meaning players cannot reset or reallocate their stat points.
This makes it essential to carefully plan and strategize your builds according to your chosen Archetype and playstyle.
If you're unsure about your long-term build, you can save your stat points by choosing to skip allocation during level-up.
This allows you to stockpile points until you're ready to invest them strategically.

The endgame is not fun playing as a magic build. Just a heads up. The rest of the game however is much easier as a mage. Similar to SMT.
