When an enemy has vital information, he will interrupt you before you deal the final blow, and this will trigger the interrogation in Ghost of Yotei. Find out how to do Interrogations here!
List of Contents
To interrogate an enemy, you will need to defeat them. Just before you deal your final blow, they will interrupt your attack and ask for mercy. This is usually accompanied by a small cut scene where Atsu will ask the enemy a question.
Note that not all enemies have information; interrogation can be triggered randomly in encounters while you explore, or from bounty targets that are directly tied to the Yotei Six.

During the start of the game, you will encounter a Ronin after your bounty in the Yotei Grasslands. Defeating him will trigger the first time you can perform an interrogation. If he doesn't spawn immediately, try completing side quests or bounties in the area until it does.
This is important because he will give you clues on the Oni, Kitsune, or Saito Brothers location.
Story Walkthrough and List of All Chapters

Depending on the information that you have, some interrogation will have you choose a question to ask. Think about this carefully since you won't be able to ask again once you've chosen. Information received from interrogation will often update your quest cards, so make sure to check them after.
Depending on how much information you currently have on the Yotei Six, you can also get clues from settlers, you may not have option to select during interrogations. In this case, the dialogue will go straight into the information without needing to choose.
