Best Early Game Armor: Armor of the Undying

Armor Perks
Wiki - Armor Of The UndyingArmor Of The Undying If weapon aligned, Staggering enemies restores a minor amount of Health.
If weapon aligned, the window to perform Perfect Parry and Perfect Dodge is increased by a minor amount.
If weapon aligned, Focus Attacks have a minor chance to increase Stagger damage.

Weapon con - Con Requires constant juggling of weapons

You can get the Armor of the Undying pretty early in the game, this focuses on taking advantage of the Weapon Alignment System. It rewards players by increasing windows to retaliate against enemies.

Best Parry Armor: Bounty Master Armor

Armor Perks
Wiki - Bounty Master ArmorBounty Master Armor Perfect Parry and Perfect Dodge windows are increased by a minor amount, but regular Parries are disabled.
A Perfect Parry enables 2 additional counterattacks.
All Spirit Gains are increased by a minor amount.

Weapon con - Con Highly skill reliant

The Bounty Master Armor maximizes the player's ability to do Perfect Parries, letting you do simultaneous attacks on successful perfect parries. Wear this armor with the Charm of Futsunushi to increase its effectiveness.

Best Melee Armor: Spider Lily Armor

Armor Perks
Wiki - Spider Lily ArmorSpider Lily Armor Enemies have a minor chance to drop throwable weapons.
Stagger damage inflicted by melee weapons increases by a minor amount.
Staggering an enemy has a minor chance of dealing minor Stagger damage to nearby enemies.

Weapon - pro Can stagger multiple enemies at once
Weapon con - Con Loadout needs to revolve around staggering

The best perk from the Spider Lily Armor is its ability to make enemies drop their weapons, these will then become throwable and can deal massive damage. There is a chance to stagger a group when attacking with this armor equipped.

Best Stealth Armor: Crimson Kimono

Armor Perks
Wiki - Crimson KimonoCrimson Kimono Chain Assassinations can be performed with Kunai (max 1 Kunai thrown).
Enemy detection is reduced by a major amount.
Kusarigama Assassinations can be unleashed from further away. The distance is increased by a minor amount.

Weapon - pro Can extend Chain Assassinations
Weapon - pro Decreases enemy detection
Weapon con - Con Needs to have the Kusarigama and Kunai unlocked

The Crimson Kimono is the best for doing stealth kills, especially if you have the Chain Assassination Master. With this unlocked you can extend your attack chain from 3 to 5 as long as you have Kunai on you.

Best Range Armor: Dragonfly Armor

Armor Perks
Wiki - Dragonfly ArmorDragonfly Armor Fully drawing your bow creates a brief timed glint. Firing an arrow during the glint empowers your shot, moderately increasing its damage and range.
Firing an empowered Arrow grants a minor amount of Concentration.
Increase Arrow reload speed by a moderate amount.

Weapon - pro Increases Bow attack damage
Weapon - pro Increased reload speed and concentration
Weapon con - Con Focuses on only Bows

The Dragonfly Armor increases the power and effectiveness of bows by a good amount. It also cuts down on the reload speed and grants you concentration, letting you shoot for longer.

Best Exploration Armor: Robes for Sitturaynu

Armor Perks
Wiki - Robes For SitturaynuRobes For Sitturaynu Fireflies and controller vibrations guide you to Altars of Reflection when you are within a 55m distance.
Golden Birds can lead to Shamisen Songs and Sumi-e Painting locations.
Flowers have a minor chance to be automatically collected when riding through white flower trails or stealthing through tall grass.

Weapon con - Con Has no combat ability

The Robes for Sitturaynu is completely focused on exploration. When equipped, you will have added cues to easily spot locations like Altars of Reflections, shamisen songs, and Sumi-e Painting locations.
