4 Attack Skills For Basic Attacks

Light Attack
|
Perform quick, light attacks. |

Heavy Attack
|
Perform slower, forceful attacks that inflict Stagger damage. Inflict enough Stagger damage to break an enemy's guard and interrupt them. |

Focus Attack
|
Unleash a damaging strike that inflicts Stagger damage. Focus Attacks counter yellow glint Disarm attacks. |

Jump Attack
|
Attack while jumping. |
The Attacks skill tree is made up of your basic attacks. These are introduced as you progress through the game's story.

Block
|
Block standard attacks and avoid damage. |

Parry Deflect
|
Block right before an enemy strikes to Deflect attacks and avoid damage. Successive Parry Deflects against powerful enemies lead to a Parry Interrupt. Inflicts a small amount of Stagger damage and earns a small amount of Spirit. |

Parry Interrupt
|
Parry Interrupts cancel enemy attacks, exposing them to counterattacks. Parry Deflect consecutive attacks from powerful enemies in quick succession to perform a Parry Interrupt. Single parries against standard enemies will immediately Parry Interrupt. Inflicts a small amount of Stagger damage and earns a small amount of Spirit. |

|
Quickly evade unblockable red glint attacks. |

Heal
|
Restore Health. Costs 1 Spirit. |
| 10 |
Sake
|
Drink Sake and Earn Spirit. Aim empty Sake jars to use as a distraction. |

Parriable Attacks
|
Blue glint attacks cannot be Blocked. You must Parry, Dash, or Roll to avoid them. Blue glints are shaped like a horizontal streak. |

Unblockable Attacks
|
Red glint attacks cannot be Blocked or Parried. You must Dash or Roll to avoid them. Red glints are shaped like a cross. |
| 13 |
Disarm Attacks
|
Yellow glint attacks will Disarm you if they land. Dash or Roll to avoid them - or counter with a Focus Attack. Yellow glints are shaped like a vertical streak. |
The Survival skill tree is made up of abilities meant to help with getting through combat.

Grapple Pull
|
Hold R2 near grapple points to hook the obstacle. Then hold L2 and pull down on left joystick to pull it free. Many grapple points are wrapped in red and white cloth. |

|
Jump near grapple points and hook them. Swing with left joystick. Many grapple points are wrapped in red and white cloth. |

Grapple Ascend
|
Jump near grapple points and hook them. Ascend with left joystick. Many grapple points are wrapped in red and white cloth. |
The Core Navigation skill tree focuses on the use of your Grapple, which allows you to traverse through rough terrain.
