300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yotei takes place in Mount Yotei, Ezo currently known as Hokkaido.

To help players with their exploration, Ghost of Yotei features a spyglass that allows players to see ahead of them or survey the area for enemies for better stealth execution.

One of the new feature added to encourage players to explore is bounties which allow players to accept requests to find and take down powerful foes for rewards.

The Clue System allows players to interrogate enemies to gain knowledge primarily on where the location of the Yotei Six are and hints on minor things such as upgrades, regions, weapons, items and more!

Ghost of Yoei's decision with nonlinear storytelling, players are tasked to eliminate the Yotei Six in any order you want when utilizing the clue system.

List of All Weapons and How to Get Them

With the inclusion of new weapons, Atsu and the enemies can disarm weapons. It is represented with a glowing yellow light indicating that an enemy is about to disarm you.

Players will now have the ability to pickup weapons off the ground or off the hands of the enemies when you disarm them giving you an opportunity to use it temporarily or as a projectile.

Atsu is not the only one capable of switching weapons. Now, most enemies can switch to an entirely different weapon in the middle of a fight, encouraging players to switch up strategies on the fly.

Sometimes, a wild wolf will join Atsu in the middle of fights or during a standoff to assist her. Many animals will be alongside Atsu in her journey through Ezo but the Wolf will be Atsu's main feline friend in the game alongside new techniques and skill trees to upgrade the Wolf companion.

Campsites allows players to rest anywhere to craft items, cook meals and play songs. You can also see NPCs join your camp by chance, interact with them and add them to your wolf pack.

Ghost of Tsushima featured director modes that enhances or changes the way you play the game. Ghost of Yotei will keep the same director modes like the black and white Kurosawa mode and also add two new ones alongside it, Miike mode and Watanabe mode.

A couple of minigames will be introduced in Ghost of Yotei. A minigame named Zeni Hajiki inspired by the Japanese children's game Ohajiki where players flick coins and compete against NPCs. There are minigames during camping too where players will use the full functionality of a DualSense controller to start a fire, cook fish or play the Shimasen.

Ghost of Yotei uses cards you gathered during an interrogation to point you in a general location of that objective instead of the usual quest markers found in Ghost of Tsushima.

In Ghost of Yotei, flower stream now gives Atsu and her horse a speed boost to quicken the travel between areas.

A major change compared to Ghost of Tsushima is the removal of stances in favor of multiple melee weapons. Each weapon Atsu carries is effective against a unique enemy, the same with the stances Jin learns.
For example, dual katanas are effective against spearmen the same as Jin's Wind Stance.

Players also have the option to select anyone in Atsu's wolf pack to visit her campsite essentially making it so upgrades, shops and important NPCs comes to you instead of the other way around. Atsu can still go to specific locations to meet certain NPCs and interact with them.

Some charms obtained in Ghost of Yotei can now be upgraded when conditions are met. It helps strengthen existing charms and still be usable late in the game.

Learning skills and techniques are now tied to finding Altars of Reflection found hidden throughout the land of Ezo. Seek these out so you can access game changing abilities that will help you with the hunt of the Yotei Six. Other abilities can still be obtained through other means such as teachings via a Wolf Pack mentor or side quest rewards.

Lethal mode is the highest difficulty in the game that changes the gameplay to force players to perfect everything in the game. Atsu will die in one hit, and so will the enemies, alongside trickier attacks, tighter parry and dodge timing, and harsher stealth. Lethal difficulty will be available to choose right from the start of the game.

Sumi-e Paintings will be a replacement for Haikus which are collectibles that rewards the players with cosmetic items when found in the world.
