You can catch a fish by using the spear's light attack on jumping fish. You can anticipate a jumping fish when you notice a circular splash in the water. A fish will jump after a short while, ready for your spear.

The best area to catch fish during the Way of the Yari quest as you're required to spear multiple fish in the cove area. You can spear about 4 fish in this location, just shy of one more to receive the trophy.

The Way of the Yari Walkthrough

Rivers of Ezo

To complete receiving the Trophy for catching 5 fish, we recommend riding along the rivers of Ezo and spot for circular splashes of water. These splashes indicate that there are fish in the area, allowing you to spear them.
