Follow the Nupur River Going to Teshio Ridge

Ghost of Yotei - Follow Nupur River Going to Teshio Ridge

Sakuru Woods, not Sakura Woods, is accessible by progressing through The Kitsune Quest via the Nupur River from Nayoro Wilds going to Teshio Ridge. An access prompt to Teshio Ridge will become available on the map once you learn more about The Kitsune by questioning ronins through random encounters.

While going through the river, you will find the Two Brothers' Campsite next to it, which you can pass through to reach the woods.

Nine Tails Puzzle Box

Ghost of Yotei - Nine Tails Puzzle Box
A puzzle box can be found in Sakuru Forest. Pin the R of the forest's name on the map and look for the box located next to a climable mountain. You will find the box underneath a wooden structure beside a dead ronin.

The Crimson Kimono Mythic Tale

Ghost of Yotei - The Crimson Kimono Mythic Tale
While wandering Sakuru Woods, you can listen in on a tale in the easternmost side of the woods. This will trigger one of the Mythic Tales in the game, The Crimson Kimono.

Ghost of Yotei - Sakuru Forest Special Place

At the pond north of the Abandoned Village in Sakuru Woods, you can find a signage where you can bow or play your shamisen to. This is one of the Special Places in the game, which you will need for the Speaking with the Land trophy.
