Not a Direct Sequel

Ghost of Yotei is not a direct sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, as it doesn't continue the story of Jin Sakai and focuses on the story of Atsu, the new protagonist of the series. It is considered more of a spin-off title rather than a spiritual successor to the first game.

The story for Ghost of Yotei is set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima on the Ezo Island and not on the island of Tsushima.
