Ghost of Yotei follows Atsu’s pursuit of revenge against the Yotei Six, the gang that killed her family. There are 3 Chapters to complete plus the prologue, where you'll be fighting each of the Yotei Six across them.

Follow the Gold Ginko Leaf
The Gold Ginko Leaf pins on the map are pertaining to leads for Atsu to follow in order to hunt down the Yotei Six. If you're lost and you're not sure how to proceed, simply mark the gold ginko leaves to progress the main story.
Visit POIs Along the Way

As you journey from one point to another, you'll come across POIs on the map that can increase your stats or receive items, like Charms, after completing the side activity. There are also Altars of Reflection scattered around the map that you can go to to learn new techniques.
Follow the Golden Birds to POIs
You'll sometimes encounter golden birds during your travels, and following them can lead you to POIs or collectibles nearby! You can also check our interactive map for all POIs found in the game!
Get the Undying Armor Early
The Undying Armor is the best armor for the early game. It will restore health upon staggering enemies, and increases the window to perform a Perfect Parry or a Perfect Dodge, as long as weapon aligned. It also has a minor chance to increase Stagger damage during Focus Attacks.

Complete your gear by getting all of the weapons as you progress the main story, so you can choose the best weapon against different types of enemies to make combat easier.

Don't Worry About Missables
The game doesn't really have any missables even after you've finished the story. There's just one instance where there's a point of no return, where you'll be unable to access any side content until after you finish the full story.
You can keep exploring Ezo and aim for a 100% completion without worrying for any possible missables!

Talk to NPCs Along the Way
You should talk to random NPCs as you journey through Ezo, since they sometimes give you clues for the main story quests, certain side quests, or a traveler's map for points of interests you haven't discovered yet!

Story Can be Replayed Through New Game Plus
Ghost of Yotei's New Game Plus will allow you to relive the story with your current gear and abilities after finishing the game once. You will start after the prologue upon choosing New Game Plus, meaning you won't be able to replay the first few scenes in the game.
Note that there will be a slight increase in the difficulty in New Game Plus for all difficulty modes.
When Does Ghost of Yotei Take Place?
Takes Place 300 Years After Ghost of Tsushima
Set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yotei takes place in Ezo, set in 1600s rural Japan. This game is a stand alone experience, and while heavily inspired by its predecesor, is not directly related to its story.
