8 Katana Skills For Balanced Single-Blade Attacks

2	Iaido	Stow the Katana then quickly draw it in a devastating attack.
3	Heavenly Slash	A fast unblockable attack that Interrupts enemies and inflicts extra damage against Staggered enemies.
4	Iai Lightning Strikes	Unleash 2 lightning-fast attacks from Iaido that Interrupt enemies.
5	Strength of Lightning	Increase Stagger damage against Swords such as Katana and Odachi.
6	Iai Storm	Extends Iaido with rapid follow-up attacks.
7	Resolve of Lightning	Increases Stagger damage inflicted by each Parry with a Katana.
8	Iai Lightning Storm	Perfectly-timed Iai Storm strikes inflict greater damage and Interrupt enemies.

The Katana skill tree further boosts Atsu's very first weapon. Effective against enemies with Swords, the Katana can easily cut down enemies.

8 Dual Katana Skills for Quick, Consecutive Attacks

2	Tempest Strike	A series of Dual Katana attacks that end with an unblockable strike that inflicts major damage.
3	Takezo's Dual Slash	A double slash attack with Dual Katana that Interrupts enemies. Capable of striking two different enemies.
4	Relentless Flurry	Continue a Dual Katana Focus Attack combo after Dashing. Requires fewer attacks to perform Tempest Strike after a successful Parry or Dash.
5	Strength of Winds	Increase Stagger damage against Polearm enemies.
6	Deflecting Strikes	Dual Katana Heavy Attacks automatically Parry Polearm attacks.
7	Improved Tempest Strike	Tempest Strikes inflict massive damage.
8	Dual Tempest Strikes	Grants two unblockable Tempest Strike attacks at the end of a Focus Attack combo with Dual Katana.

The Dual Katana skill tree makes this nimble weapon even more deadly. Effective against enemies with Polearms, using Dual Katana will allow Atsu to defeat enemies in a flash.

9 Odachi Skills for Heavy Hitting Attacks

2	Unstoppable Strikes	While attacking with the Odachi, take less damage and become Unstoppable. Unstoppable attacks cannot be interrupted.
3	Bulwark Stance	A defensive stance for the Odachi that blocks all standard attacks.
4	Mountain Breaker	Devastating attack that inflicts massive Stagger damage and knocks down enemies Staggered by the attack.
5	Improved Bulwark Stance	Releasing Triangle during Bulwark Stance unleashes a slam which is then followed by a high damage double slash and piercing thrust Focus Attacks.
6	Strength of the Mountain	Increase Stagger damage against all enemies.
7	Indomitable Counter	Precisely timing Bulwark Stance will Perfect Counter all attacks, including red glint attacks.
8	Resolve of the Mountain	Take less damage when attacking with the Odachi.
9	Unstoppable Force	Damage taken while Unstoppable can be recovered. Recoverable Health appears grey and can be restored by attacking enemies.

The Odachi skill tree focuses maximizing Atsu's heavy attacks. Effective against enemy Brutes, the Odachi specializes in crushing every foe in your way.

9 Yari Skills for Increased Attack Range and AoE

2	Typhoon Kick	Use the Yari to drive a powerful kick that interrupts and launches enemies with great force.
3	Thundering Wave	A high-damage charge attack that impales and launches a single enemy while Interrupting nearby enemies.
4	Typhoon Sweep	Sweep the Yari in a wide arc to Interrupt and knock down enemies.
5	Torrential Slash	A powerful follow-up Focus Attack after Typhoon Kick.
6	Strength of Waters	Increase Stagger damage against Sickle enemies.
7	Quelling Waves	When using the Yari against Sickles, massively increase Stagger damage inflicted by Parry.
8	Quickening Tides	Reduces the time to fully charge Typhoon Kick by a major amount.
9	Strength of Typhoons	Typhoon Kick inflicts increased Stagger damage and launches enemies farther.

The Yari skill tree focuses on the various attacks available to the spear. Effective against Sickles, the Yari gives Atsu plenty of options during combat.

9 Kusarigama Skills to Take Down Enemies with Style

2	Ferocious Whirlwind	Kusarigama Focus Attack swing that strikes all nearby enemies.
3	Claw and Talon	A devastating long range attack that Interrupts enemies and destroys Shields.
4	Lethal Talons	Use the Kusarigama to execute Assassinations from a distance.
5	Strength of the Bear	Increase Stagger damage against Shield enemies.
6	Evasive Maul	A strong sweeping Kusarigama Focus Attack performed after a Roll that can counter yellow glint attacks.
7	Mighty Talons	Assassinate large Brute enemies with the Kusarigama.
8	Iron Talon	Kusarigama Assassinations no longer cost Spirit to perform.
9	Ferocious Cyclone	Extends Ferocious Whirlwind to 3 Focus Attacks that hit all nearby enemies.

The Kusarigama skill tree provides more options for those who like to quietly take out enemies. Effective against Shields, the Kusarigama also allows Atsu to smash through enemy groups with style.

Katana is Generally the Most Useful

Though every weapon has their uses and highlights in their respective skill tree, upgrading the Katana skill tree will generally be useful since you fight many enemies with swords.
