1. Speak to the Monk at Sakuru Bamboo Strike 2. Follow the Monk to the Impostor's House 3. Go to Traveler's Rest and Defeat the Nine Tails |
1. Speak to the Monk at Sakuru Bamboo Strike
Visit the monk near the Sakuru Bamboo Strike and speak to him. He will infom you of an impostor monk secretly working for the Nine Tails and lures in victims with promise of food and rest.
Accept the job and mount your horse, then follow the monk.
2. Follow the Monk to the Impostor's House
Keep following the monk to the impostor's home, defeating ambushers along the way. Search for clues as to where he might be.
Upon reviewing the clues, the monk will point out a place in the Crimson Forest with red maple leaves but has a spot with a large spruce tree. Follow him there.
3. Go to Traveler's Rest and Defeat the Nine Tails
The monk will lead you to Traveler's Rest where the impostor is already in action. Spot the Nine Tails hiding in the tall grass and either kill them with your bow or face them head-on.
Once all the Nine Tails are defeated, confront the impostor to learn that he is actually a monk forced to work for the Nine Tails. Either convinve him to leave or make amends by actually helping people, then the quest will come to a close.

A Monk Near the Sakura Bamboo Strike
Start from Bifuka Sake House then head northeast up to Sakura Bamboo Strike. Talk to the monk to start the quest.
