Which Horse and Name to Pick?

The Choice is Purely Cosmetic

GOY - Choices are cosmetic

After helping the stablemaster in Old Trails, you will be able to choose a new horse. For the regular version of the game, you will be given three options: a white, black, and gray horse, and after choosing a horse, you will choose its new name.

These options are purely cosmetic, no matter what you choose, the horse's performance will remain the same.

How to Pick a Horse

Complete the Old Trails Quest

Relive the memory with Jubei and his coins at home, the quest will trigger once you get out of the memory. Find the Stables southeast of Shikotsu Woods and help the stablemaster fight off Lord Saito's forces.

After helping the stablemaster meet him at the fields near the stables, you will be able to select a new horse which you can name.

Old Trails Walkthrough and Rewards

Bug: Horse Running Away

There is a bug in game where after summoning a horse it will not stop running and disappear into the distance. To fix the bug, move to a different area or fast travel and try to summon the horse again. Currently there is no update on whether this bag has been patched.
