1. Duel Disciples of Takezo at Five Dueling Trees
| 1.1 |  You may challenge the first Disciple of Takezo at the Dueling Tree south of Shikotsu River. This tree has no leaves and is surrounded by mounds and flagpoles. After defeating the disciple, Ugetsu the Storyteller will appear to commence the Mythic Tale. You will also receive Takezo's Charm of the Unrelenting Warrior. |

| 1.2 |  Challenge the second disciple northwest of Yotei River. This Dueling Tree has red leaves and is located on a hill. Defeating this disciple will reward you with Takezo's Charm of Renewed Determination. Loot the body to also receive coins. |
| 1.3 |  The third disciple can be challenged at the westernmost point of Tokachi Range, past the Yubari Lake. This Dueling Tree has red leaves and is flanked by torches. Defeating this disciple will reward you with coins and Takezo's Charm of Bold Deflection. |
| 1.4 |  The fourth disciple is at the southern side of the Tomamu Marshlands in Tokachi Range. The Dueling Tree here stands upright with no leaves. Defeat the disciple to get coins and Takezo's Charm of Bracing Victory. |
| 1.5 |  The fifth disciple is located far north from the Tomamu Marshlands, at the Niikappu Falls in Tokachi Range. The Dueling Tree has red leaves and stands on a monument. After beating the disciple, a cutscene will play where a man tells you to find Takezo at the Coastal Dueling Tree. You will also get Takezo's Charm of the Stout Heart after the cutscene. |
2. Find Takezo at the Coastal Dueling Tree
Go to the Coastal Dueling Tree at the Southern Coast, located southwest of Lake Kuttara. You will see the Dueling Tree with no leaves at a small camp. Approach the stump to see the prompt to wait for Takezo.
After a while, there will be a cutscene where the man you previously met arrives and reveals that he is Takezo the Unrivaled. Follow him down the slope toward the coast.
3. Duel Takezo the Unrivaled
At Sasaki's Cove, engage in a duel with Takezo. At some point, when Takezo's health bar is nearly depleted, you will learn Takezo's Dual Slash technique. Perform this attack by pressing triangle and circle on the controller.
A cutscene will trigger, with Takezo ending the duel after seeing that you have learned his technique. This ends the first part of Takezo's Mythic Tale questline.
You Will Encounter Takezo for a Second Time After the Quest
After dueling Takezo at Sasaki’s Cove, you’ll face him again at the end of the follow-up Myth Tale, The Five Teachings. This time, the battle takes place at the summit of Mount Yotei, where Takezo is significantly stronger. We highly recommend thorough preparation before this fight, as the second encounter is on an entirely different level compared to the first.

How to Unlock Takezo the Unrivaled
Defeat a Disciple of Takezo at a Dueling Tree
This Mythic Tale automatically unlocks after defeating a Disciple of Takezo at a Dueling Tree in the Yotei Grasslands or Tokachi Range. After doing so, Ugetsu the Storyteller will appear to start the Mythic Tale.
