During the fight, Lord Saito will constantly switch between all weapons except the katana, making it tricky to keep your weapon alignment. Take your time, and use the perfect counter for each weapon to gain the advantage.
If you don't have the right weapon to counter Lord Saito, pull back and focus on dodging until he switches to a different weapon.
Although parrying is useful for building up your Spirit, it is sometimes better to focus on dodging to reduce mistakes during the fight. You can still build Spirit by dealing damage whenever you find an opening.

After dealing enough damage in the first phase, Lord Saito will switch to his katana and fight more seriously. He will also restore his HP to full and gain Spirit, meaning he will start using techniques as well.
During this phase, the best weapon to use is the one you're most comfortable with, as the katana doesn't have any advantage over other weapons.
While he has full Spirit, it's highly recommended to play defensively and wait for Lord Saito to spend it, as getting hit by any of his techniques can deal massive damage. You should only play aggressively once he has spent his Spirit.
Lord Saito will perform a disarm attack when he spends his Spirit. While it can be countered, it's usually safer to dodge instead of risking dropping your weapon.
During this second phase, Lord Saito will constantly pressure you with powerful combos while chasing you down. Wait for the blue glint and use it as an opportunity to perform a perfect parry, giving you enough time to strike back and slowly chip away at his health.

As part of The Final Hunt of the Onryo, you will need to return home after escaping the Koga Fortress. There, you'll find Lord Saito waiting for your return, where the fight will begin.

Defeating Lord Saito concludes the main story of the game. With the story complete and Atsu's hunt finished, all that's left will be to clear Ezo of any lingering threats from the Yotei Six's influence.
