Lake Shikotsu
From Atsu's home, run southeast towards Lake Shikotsu to find the bowing sign of the Special Place.

Sarubetsu River
Look for the Altar of Reflection found in the intersection of the Yotei River, Nupur River, an the Sarubetsu River. Climb on top of the altar to find the bowing sign of the Special Place.

Starting from the intersection of the Sarubetsu River and the Shikotsu River, go down all the way down to the end of the map until you reach the Southern Coast.

Follow the Ishikari River all the way down to the intersection between the river, Otaru Beach, and Otaru Hills to find the bowing signage.

Go to the far west of Ohara Plains to reach the Amber Respite Shrine.

What are Special Places?

Subtle Interactions with Nature

Ghost of Yotei - Interacting with Nature

Special Places are unique add ons that are neither collectibles nor traceable map locations in the game. They are found in fixed locations, particularly with a bowing signange stand.

Bowing to the signange or even playing your Shamisen will let nature interact with Atsu subtly, either by having her engulfed with butterflies or have some leaves rustle to her direction.

How to Complete Special Places

Use the Touchpad to Bow or Play Your Shamisen

Ghost of Yotei - How to Do Special Places

Stand near the signage and swipe your touchpad to either bow or play your Shamisen upon finding a Special Place. Either method will cause the environment to interact with Atsu.

Special Places Completion Trophies

Speaking with the Land Trophy

✔️ Speaking with the Land
Bronze Trophy Bronze Bow or play your shamisen at 10 special places throughout Ezo.

Bowing or playing your Shamisen in at least 10 Special Places found across Ezo will reward you with the Speaking with the Land Trophy.
