1. Enter the Closed-Off Building
| 1.1 |  Go to Shipwreck Shoal, which is just southeast of the Soya Port Village in Teshio Ridge. On the cliffs above the sea, you'll spot an abandoned building with kitsune statues. |

| 1.2 |  Looking to the other side, you'll notice two kitsune statues with symbols next to them mirroring the ones on your side. • Turn the left statue to face right. • Turn the right statue to face left. |
| 1.3 |  • Turn the left statue to face left. • Turn the right statue to face right. |
| 1.4 |  Enter the building and examine the note directly to the left of the entrance for the clue card. Don't forget to pay respects to the Altar of Reflection inside this building before leaving. |
2. Solve the Sarufutsu Lighthouse Puzzle
| 2.1 |  The Sarufutsu Lighthouse is located just a couple fo meters southeast Shipwreck Shoal. Ride your horse and follow the coastline until you reach the lighthouse, then go inside. ► Sarufutsu Lighthouse Puzzle Guide |

| 2.2 |  Two sets of kitsune statue puzzles are opposite each other and the door ahead is locked by kitsune pedestals. Begin with the puzzle on the left wall. • Turn the left statue to face right. • Turn the right statue to face left. • Grab the kitsune idol and place it on the left pedestal by the door. |
| 2.3 |  Do the same thing to the other puzzle. Face the right wall to orient yourself. • Turn the left statue to face right. • Turn the right statue to face left. • Grab the kitsune idol and place it on the right pedestal by the door. Proceed through the door afterwards. |
3. Follow the Fox
| 3.1 |  You will find the Hunting Camp Hideout already cleared and littered with shinobi corpses. Free the fox from the cage and follow it to the cave ahead. Looking up, you'll see the bear that was probably responsible for the killings. |

| 3.2 |  Look to your left and climb the ladder and scaffoldings to the top, then cross the slackline. |
| 3.3 |  Follow the path, rappel up, then squeeze through the gap, and make your way through to the Sanctuary Grove. |
| 3.4 |  Use the beams to get across and speak to the settler in the building ahead. Watch the cutscenes that ensue. |
4. Go to the Altar of Reflection at the Top
| 4.1 |  Speak to the deer and it will guide you to the scaffoldings to the left of the building. |

| 4.2 |  Interact with the kitsune idol to bring down a ladder. Climb it up to the scaffoldings and follow the path ahead. |
| 4.3 |  Pay your respects to the Altar of Reflection. Leave via the door behind it afterwards to complete the quest. |

Altars of Reflections are shrines you can pay your respects to for new techniques. There are two in this quest: one inside the closed-off building, and another near the Inari building in the Hunting Camp Hideout.

How to Unlock Encounters of the Wild
Access Teshio Ridge and Go to Shipwreck Shoal
The Teshio Ridge region of Ezo can be accessed upon riding the boat from the Central Ferry to the North Ferry during the Kitsune questline.
Once you're there, simply make your way to Shipwreck Shoal and find the closed-off building sittin on one of the cliffs. Inside, you'll find the clue card, which unlocks the quest.
