Last Night's Ashes will unlock along with the main commission, Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night, which will appear on the Schedule Screen after completing Season 2 Chapter 2, The Impending Crash of Waves Main Story.

Speak to the Other Proxy
Head to the Suibian Temple to hear what your sibling has to say regarding the message that the Mayor sent. Phaethon needs to work with Obol Squad to assist them in fighting against the Exaltists.
Explain the Situation to Yixuan Shifu
Report to Yixuan Shifu regarding your upcoming mission with the Obol Squad, as you will be sent to the Defense Forces as Yunkui Summit's disciple.
Talk to Your Sibling Before Going to Bed
Speak to the other Proxy, as they have completed the HDD calibration, and discuss the plans for meeting the Obol Squad near the Lemnian Hollow.
Assemble the Squad
After watching the cutscene, you will get to control and play as Orphie and Magus. Speak to your squadmates to assemble and prepare for the Hollow exploration.
Join the Operation Briefing
Approach Isolde to begin the Operation Briefing before heading out to the Hollow with Soldier 11.
Meet with the ''Mayor's Envoy''
Using Orphie and Magus along with Soldier 11, clear out the enemies as you reach the destination to meet up with Phaethon.
Investigate the Exaltist Base
After meeting up with the Proxy, head to the Exaltist Base and defeat all of the enemies to clear out their base.
Eliminate the Defending Forces
On the other side of the operation, you will be using Seed and Trigger to eliminate the enemy forces.
Deactivate the Defense System
Head to the marked location and defeat the enemies to reach the Control Panel, as it is the Blitz Squad's mission to deactivate it.
Eliminate the Enemies
After shutting down the Ether transmission system, you will be back with Orphie and Magus' team, and you must defeat the Ethereal enemies.
Search the Base for Intel
Investigate the Obsura inside the Exaltist Base to gather intel on their evil plans.
Check Marcel Terminal
In the nearby area, check out the Marcel Terminal and complete the Marcel Maze as Eous to gather data.
Meet Up with Aegis Squad
After solving the Marcel Maze, head down as Orphie and Magus to meet up with the other squad at the marked location.
Meet Up with Blitz Squad
Using Seed again, head down the building using the elevator to reach the marked meet-up location.
Report to Colonel Isolde
After the battle cutscene, head back to the Defense Force camp to report back to Colonel Isolde regarding the intel gathered at the Exaltist Base.
Meet the Major General with Isolde
Watch another cutscene as the Proxy meets Major General with Isolde, to complete the first subquest of the main story commission.
