How to Beat Edna

To aid in your battle against Edna, here are some tips that you can utilize in your fight.

1. Use Wind-type Artes

Use Wind-type Artes

Edna is vulnerable to any Wind-based Artes, which helps to drastically reduce her high HP pool with successive hits. Arm your party members, such as Rinwell with all the Wind-based Artes that you have and use them whenever you can against Edna.

Move In and Out of its Surroundings

Due to her ability to conduct quick attacks, it is difficult to stay within Edna's immediate vicinity for a long time. It is advised that you move in and out of her range of attack every time you attack her to avoid any of her quick and powerful counterattacks.

Additionally, you can stay mobile and much more easily move around Edna by keeping your combos short – long combos might lock you in several attack animations that make it difficult to move out of the way of her attacks.

Primary Wind Attacker

Rinwell is the one in your party that has plenty of Wind-based Artes that can be used repeatedly throughout the fight until its conclusion. The only problem with her different Artes is that it can take quite some time for her to finish casting them. You can prevent Edna from being able to interrupt her by making use of Law or Alphen to distract her with close-range attacks, giving Rinwell enough time to finish casting her Artes.

Edna Attack Patterns

Quick Attacks

A majority of Edna's regular attacks are comprised of quick and powerful strikes that can cause significant damage. These attacks are often backed up by an element of her choosing – either Earth, Wind, or Water – that are all difficult to spot when she intends to perform them.

As such, it is best to keep your combos short when engaging her, moving out of her attack range and into safety even if she is not performing any attack yet.

Elemental Attacks

During her Over Limit state, Edna will fly above you, performing attacks from above with the use of the many elements that she can control. These attacks are:

• Projectile attacks with the use of Fire and Ice Elements, and;
• A giant ball of energy that can deplete your HP gauge if you are unable to get out of its way and are touched by it.

These attacks are fairly easy to avoid so long as you keep moving in a diagonal direction which helps you to avoid the projectiles Edna sends your way.
