Tales of Arise - What Happens When Your Party Dies

This is a guide on what happens when all allies die in Tales of Arise. Read on to learn what happens to fallen party members, and how to return to battle after losing one.

How to Get a Game Over

All Party Member's HP Become 0

Tales of Arise - Party Members Die

Getting a game over happens when all active members of the party lose all of their HP. This will still happen even if you have inactive party members that are alive.

Consume Large Amounts of CP

Tales of Arise - Out of Combat CP Use

An entire party falling in battle means that you lose a large amount of CP, which you need to heal allies. While you can return to battle against regular enemies, you might not have enough CP to heal party members during a fight.

Not Enough CP Revives you with 1 HP

Tales of Arise - 1HP

If you do not have enough CP to heal your party, they will come back with only 1HP. This will put you at risk if you go into another battle.

Refill CP in Campfires

Tales of Arise - Resting

Instead of going into another battle, it is a safer strategy to go back to a campfire and restore CP. You can also cook food to give you buffs that can help you in battle.

Lose Consumed Items After Defeat

You can also lose items after your party falls in battle. This means that you need to face the same enemies again, or revisit areas to re-acquire these items.

You Cannot Retry vs. Bosses and Unique Enemies

Tales of Arise - Keep an Eye On the Fire Avatar

If your entire party dies during a boss battle or against a unique enemy, this results in a game over. You also have the option to return to the title screen or retry from a previous save before the battle (where you still have your HP, CP, and items intact).
