How to Activate Blade of Sealing

The Blade of Sealing will take effect as long as it is set to active from the Artifacts menu. To do so open the menu, select Field Guide, then Artifacts, and hit triangle (on PS4 and PS5) to view artifact effects. Check the box of the effect that says 1 Damage to activate the Blade of Sealing.

Blade of Sealing Location and How to Get

Use the Blade of Sealing on Auto Battle

Set your Combat Mode to Auto

After acquiring the Blade of Sealing Artifact and activating it, set your Battle Control setting to Auto so you don't need to worry about combat. To do so open the menu and press R1 (on PS4 and PS5) to edit your party. In the upper right corner will be your Battle Control setting which you can change to Auto by pressing the corresponding button for your console.

Turn Auto OFF for All Artes Except One

Choose an Arte that you want to level up and turn "Auto OFF" for all other Artes. To do so, open the menu and select Artes and press R2 (on PS4 and PS5) to view the Arte List. At the bottom of the screen is a button prompt for Auto ON/OFF.

Turning off all but one Arte ensures that even in Auto battle, the only Arte that your character will use is the one you want to level up.

Battle Enemies With High HP

Going after Armored enemies is recommended

Armored enemies tend to have higher HP, ensuing for longer battles when using the Blade of Sealing. With the Granilem's massive HP pool of 8320, the battle will take about 30 minutes with the Blade of Sealing equipped, allowing your characters to battle on auto in the background and rack up Arte Proficiency in the process.

Press the designated key for "Status" shown at the bottom of the screen.

You can access this Proficiency Menu any time outside of combat.

Raising Arte Proficiency Pointers

Choose the Right Artes

Tales of Arise - Artes Proficiency
Each character possesses three unique "specialties", or Arte Proficiencies, that can be improved upon through combat. If you haven't found the Blade of Sealing yet, it is highly recommended that you choose your Tier I Artes that deal the least amount of damage to prolong the length of your battles.

List of All Artes

Auto Battle with only a Single Arte turned ON

Even if you haven't acquired the Blade of Sealing, you can still make use of the tactic of putting all but one Arte on "Auto OFF" then putting the combat mode to Automatic. This way all party members will have at least one Arte continuously raised with every battle.

Do not flee from battle

If you flee from battle, you will not gain any proficiency despite spamming your artes the entire fight.

You do still get proficiency to your artes even if you flee battles. I have tested it a few times on lvl34 polymentus on unknown difficulty fleeing from battle after getting a skill or 2 to 3000
