To aid in your battle against the Great Astral Spirit, here are some tips that you can utilize in your fight.
As with most enemies found on Rena, the Great Astral Spirit also has a vulnerability to Light-based attacks. It will, however, offer much more resistance to such attacks, despite being weak towards it.
To get around this, you can try going beyond the Recommended Level to boost your Parameters to have a smoother experience. Alternatively, you can wear accessories that provide bonuses to Elemental Damage you inflict.
The backside of the Great Astral Spirit is very much open to any attacks that you can perform due to its slow movement speed. Whenever you can, try and circle around to its back for some quick hits, or wait for it to become aggressive towards another party member, where it will turn its back to you and thus opening itself to attack.
During the fight's second phase, spheres representing each of the Astral Elements will be summoned – they will all focus their attacks on whichever character you're directly playing unless they are attacked by a party member.
These spheres can cause a great deal of damage to you, but taking them all out is not advised. It is recommended that you thin their numbers by defeating one or two of the spheres before focusing all your attention back to the Great Astral Spirit.

To maximize the amount of elemental damage you can cause against the Great Astral Spirit, go ahead and disable any non-light Artes for both Shionne and Rinwell unless you have no other Artes available. This will force them to use only Light-based Artes that they have available throughout the fight if you're not directly controlling them.

Due to his nature as a close-quarters attacker, Alphen may be vulnerable to the Great Astral Spirit's Miniature Black Hole attack, which it will commonly use to distance itself from your attacks.
These attacks don't deal much damage, but can drain your HP over time.

As a long-distance fighter, similar to Rinwell, Shionne can stay at long-range to take shots at the boss from a safe distance. By using her Artes, you can also deal Light-based damage against the it, which will help take down the boss more quickly.

It is advised that Law be kept alive during the battle to help him trigger his Over Limit. This will him to activate his Mystic Arte, which you can use to deal thousands of damage to the Great Astral Spirit.
There are two variations of this attack – in the first phase, it will simply blast out a beam of dark energy from its mouth, sweeping it in a straight line upwards. You can react to this attack before it is cast by seeing the purple light flash on the ground before the Astral Spirit fires.
In the second phase, this attack is much more difficult to see coming, the only warning sign is a subtle purple glow that appears on the ground right before a beam of light will blast down on whichever character you are controlling.
While standing still, the boss can summon a small ring of Dark Astral Energy to appear right below where it stands. Standing too close to this circle will deal considerable damage, and it is advised that you simply wait for the attack to end before moving close to it again, or briefly switch to a ranged character for a few hits.
The Great Astral Spirit will use its hands to move closer to you or another party member. Each step it takes will cause minimal damage if hit, but you can avoid this attack entirely by moving out of the boss' path. This attack won't be an issue unless you are standing too close to the boss when the attack animation starts up.
Similar to many of the Zeugles fought on Rena, the Great Astral Spirit has the ability to teleport anywhere in the arena to attack you. Keep your lock-on active and on the boss to know when and where it will teleport to.
