The Beyond the Dawn DLC can be started from the Tales of Arise title screen. Read on to see more details regarding how to start the Beyond the Dawn DLC and things to do before you start the DLC!

Download the Update File

Estimated Download Time Around 25 Minutes

Once you purchase the expansion and boot up the game, the update file will start downloading. The estimated download time for the Beyond the Dawn DLC is around 25 minutes.

If the download doesn't start, make sure to check if your Internet connection is not experiencing any problems.

Select Beyond the Dawn from the Title Screen

After downloading the update file, you can access the DLC expansion via the Beyond the Dawn option in the Tales of Arise title screen.

Transfer Save Data from PS4 to PS5

You can still use your previous Tales of Arise PS4 save file if you are now playing on the PS5. To do this, you'll need to launch your PS4 Tales of Arise copy and choose the Save Data Upload option on the menu.

This will perform a batch transfer, transferring your save data from the PS4 version to the PS5 version. Once the upload is complete, launch the PS5 version of Tales of Arise and then choose Save Data Download to download your PS4 save file.

Once successful, all previously acquired trophies are automatically added to your PS5 game!

Once you start the Beyond the Dawn DLC, the save date for the main story is loaded and you'll receive in-game bonuses based on your progress!

Characters Will Start at Lv.65

Tales of Arise - Beyond the Dawn Character Levels

Whether your characters were above or below lv. 65 during Tales of Arise' main campaign, starting the Beyond the Dawn DLC will set your character level to 65.

You Can Skip The Main Campaign

Tales of Arise - Beyond the Dawn New Game

You do not need to finish the base version of Tales of Arise to play the Beyond the Dawn expansion. Players who already own the expansion can dive straight into the new content.

However, there are additional rewards for players who have played and finished the main campaign. Check out our Things to Do Before Starting section for a full pre-Beyond the Dawn checklist and rewards!

Players that have existing save files for the base version of Tales of Arise are eligible to receive additional in-game bonuses once they start playing the Beyond the Dawn expansion.
