Signifies a character's "power" and is dictated by the amount of experience a character has. With each level gained by a character, all stats can be raised except for AG.
Looking at a character's level is a good way to tell whether or not they will be able to take on Enemies which are at high, similar, or lower levels than the character players will use to fight them.
A character's vitality shows how far or close they are to being knocked out while in combat. This is represented by a green bar that loses its length when a character takes damage – upon reaching 0, the character will be knocked out until they are revived during a fight or are revived by the game's automatic revival once a battle is concluded.
The Artes Gauge is the parameter that tells how many Artes a character can use in battle before they are unable to use any of them. These are denoted by diamond symbols in the stats screen, and blue diamonds just above the HP bar during battle.
The Artes Gauge replenishes over time, but its recovery is hindered whenever you attack or are afflicted with Ailments.
How to Restore AG (Artes Gauge)
Attack affects the amount of damage that you do with non-elemental attacks against enemies. Unlocking higher levels with a character raises this parameter but does not, however, affect how much damage you can deal using the elements, nor does having a higher Attack parameter cause interrupts and critical hits to occur more frequently.
Similar to the Attack parameter, Elemental Attack affects how much damage is dealt using elemental attacks against enemies. Achieving higher levels like with the Attack parameter also increases the values for this parameter to increase.
Note that the amount of damage dealt by Mystic Artes is decided by whichever value between the Attack and Elemental Attack parameters are highest.
Penetration dictates the chances of a character being able to trigger interrupts and critical hits against an enemy. Having a higher Penetration stat will increase the likelihood of these happening.
Penetration is separate from the Attack parameter and does not affect how much damage you cause overall.
Defense affects the amount of damage you take from enemy attacks that are not elemental based.
Similar to Defense, Elemental Defense affects the amount of damage taken from an enemy's elemental-based attacks. Damage taken from Mystic Artes is decided by whatever value is the highest between Defense and Elemental Defense.
As the categorical opposite of Penetration, Resistance will allow a character to be less likely affected by interrupts when attacked by enemies, while also decreases said character's likelihood of receiving critical hits.
The primary method to increase a character's stats is by leveling up. This can be done by gaining experience through fights against enemies – each level gained gives a substantial increase in each parameter, not including any other stat-boosting or debuffing characteristics that a character may have through other means.
Primarily used in combat, using Artes temporarily boosts specific parameters depending on the Artes used. The Artes that Rinwell uses, for example, helps to temporarily boost offensive statistics that can give an advantage while in battle.
Certain Weapons, Armor, and Accessories found or created in the world will give different boosts to stats, depending on the specific parameters that each equipment changes.
In general, Weapons will affect primarily offensive-based parameters, Armor for defensive ones, while Accessories have a much broader range of parameters it can affect.
Accessories are one of the pieces of equipment that can be equipped to a character to boost their stats. Learning how to maximize accessories is one essential way to significantly give your characters an edge when facing off against enemies – each accessory that can be crafted can be given up to 4 skills with a range of effects to parameters, with rarer ores used for crafting offering even more.
Parameters are statlines that show a character's strengths and weaknesses in combat. Each parameter affects combat in one way or another and can be used to strategize the way you fight against enemies depending on which parameter a character is weak or strong in.
While parameters can be increased through several ways, enemies also can debuff your characters using their attacks to inflict Physical Ailments. Each ailment has different effects on characters, but being afflicted by any one of them reduces the recovery of the Artes Gauge by 50%.
Physical Ailments can, however, be treated immediately through either the use of Artes or Items.
