This is a guide to the best Strategy Setups in Tales of Arise. Learn about how to customize strategy tactics, and see a list of all preset strategies!
List of Contents
Strategies in Tales of Arise are a great way of customizing your team's playstyle according to their needs. With this feature, you can decide what your non-controlled characters would do in a battle including when to use healing artes and items, what to do depending on the enemies' level and difficulty, and whether or not to conserve your CP.
Utilize this feature so you don't have to be worried about your non-controlled party members during battle.
To select a different strategy, simply open the strategy menu and select which strategy you want to change. Doing so will bring up the list of preset strategies that are available in the demo.
Afterwards, simply select which of those you want to use.
You can have four different strategies in the strategy menu. They are easily accessible so you and your team can change strategies even in the middle of a fight.
The strategy you are currenty using is indicated by the flag beside the strategy's name. To change this, simply move the flag to your desired strategy by pressing the set default tactics button.
Aside from the presets, you can also customize a strategy to your liking or to match your current opponent.
First, pick which slot you would like your custom strategy to be then select change tactics details
Changing tactics details will pull up a set of actions for your strategy. You can edit an action by pressing the edit action button.
Each action requires two conditions that need to be met first before your character can perform that action.
This feature also lets you delete and add as many actions as you want!
Once you're done customizing a strategy, you'll have the option to rename it. Simply press the 'change name' button and pick 'Custom Strategy'.
Lastly, don't forget to save the changes you made by pressing the save and close button.
Fight with moderation and Focus on healing are the two best preset strategies we recommend.
Fight with moderation is great for normal enemy battles and when you're grinding for EXP or Gald.
On the other hand, Focus on healing is great for boss fights and gigant zeugle fights.
Strategy | Description |
---|---|
Fight with moderation | ・Use healing, support, and KO recovery artes ・Use items if CP is insufficient |
No items | ・Use healing, support, and KO recovery artes ・Fight without using items |
Focus on healing | ・Use healing and KO recovery artes when needed ・Keep a safe distance from enemies when low ・Use items if CP is insufficient |
Fight aggressively | ・Use support artes that boost attack ・Use KO recovery artes ・Use items if CP is insufficient |
Save CP | ・Save CP when fighting |
Don't spend CP | ・Don't spend CP when fighting |
Go all out against bosses | ・Use healing, support, and KO recovery artes ・Use items if CP is insufficient |
Healing only | ・Only use healing and KO recovery artes ・Movement is limited |
Don't do anything | ・Stay still when fighting |
Action | Conditions and Restrictions |
---|---|
1 | Ally HP 50% or less Healing artes No restrictions |
2 | Own HP is 50% or less Peach Gel Have at least 5 |
3 | Ally HP is 50% or less Peach Gel Have at least 5 |
4 | Anyone KO'd KO Recovery Artes No limit |
5 | Anyone afflicted with ailment Ailment removal artes No limit |
6 | Anyone afflicted with ailment Panacea Bottle No limit |
7 | CP is 25% or less Orange Gel Have at least 5 |
Since you'll be using the strategy Fight with Moderation in normal zeugle battles, it's unlikely that your party members will be incapacitated.
With this in mind, it is much better to prioritize healing when you use this strategy. If you think this strategy won't work well with your playstyle, you can always customize them to your liking.
Action | Conditions and Restrictions |
---|---|
1 | Anyone KO'd KO Recovery Artes No limit |
2 | Anyone KO'd Life Bottle No limit |
3 | Own HP is 50% or less Healing artes No limit |
4 | Own HP is 75% or less Peach Gel No limit |
5 | Ally HP is 75% or less Peach Gel No limit |
6 | CP is 50% or less Orange Gel No limit |
7 | Anyone afflicted with ailment Ailment removal artes No limit |
8 | Own HP is 25% or less Keep away from enemy No limit |
This strategy works best against bosses and gigant zeugles. However, these enemies will have a higher attack power and can one-shot your characters easily.
Because of this, we recommend the above setting which focuses on reviving any party member that has been KO'd.
